Professor Peter Silburn is the most understanding Dr. anyone could have. He cares for his patients in an unbelievable manner. My husband has been under Peter for about 11 years now and had Brain Stimulation twice, 4 years apart. He is the only Dr. I have been involved with that also cares about the partner, always checking that you are okay and coping. Australia is so lucky to have him, he should be nominated for Australian of the Year as he has given so many people back their lives.

His leading receptionist claims he has never treated me. I am fairly angry about this to date. Who else shoved the lumbar puncture down my spine if it wasn’t him. I resent being told by a church group that I have MS – with zero
follow up by Dr Silburn. It is not right to tell relatives in the field, who tell church groups, who gossip, and this then leading back to me. It’s been years and he won’t get back to me. This is disgusting.

Remember to ask about the really bad side effects of DBS. My father had the DBS operation. Up till this point he adored my mother, his wife of 42 years. Within a year of the operation dad became obsessed with strippers. He lost his whole family over this. We went to Dr Silburn and his team for help. They washed their hands of us, claimed it was nothing to do with them. So as others have stated, Dr Silburn is only there when things are good.

Not sure some of these comments refer to the same Professor Peter Silburn that I know.
My partner has been seeing Prof Silburn for close to three years suffering from Multiple System Atrophy ( MSA ).
Recently had to have a stay in St Andrews Hospital for blood pressure problems that is associated with her disease. Prof Silburn put us in touch with the people in his team to help sort out her issues.
1. Dr Philip Mosley ( Psychiatrist ) who referred us to Dr Tsai. Thank you Dr Mosley
2. Dr Polly Tsai ( Physician ) brilliant in her field and got on top of her medication. Thank you
Dr Tsai.
3. Dr Brendan Bell ( Cardiologist ) who sorted out her heart issues. Thank you Dr Bell
My partner spent 7 days in hospital and Dr Silburn visited every single day including Saturday and Sunday to check if all was going to plan, now if that’s not a caring person then tell me what is.
So I would like to thank Dr Silburn and his team, Dr Philip Mosley, Dr Polly Tsai, Dr Brendan Bell and all the staff at the hospital for all your kind help.
5 stars all the way in my book

Saw him a couple of times. Seemed helpful at first. Then said he would arrange some tests and he never did despite repeated phone calls.

It has been four years since I had my lumbar puncture and I am yet to hear the results personally. I do the odd bit of gossip in the community but am yet to hear from the good doctor. His manager was so rude she hung up
on me and denied that I was a patient. She also conceded that she had called my barrister re my instructions for my results – which is not have the brightest thing to have said. Maybe she also could also do with a scan. But hey. It would take years to get the results back. Is this medical negligence much?
