a bloody good bloke who sticks by his philosophy that no one comes out of surgery with more hair then him. Great sense of humour and humility. I could not imagine a better person in his position

This dr is not interested in you unless you are a celebrity or have heaps of money. He will not return phone calls or does not follow through with what he tells you.

Prof. Peter Silburn is not your typical sterotype specialist (ie. cold, clinical and uncaring just doing a job) in fact he is the complete opposite. He is a down to earth genuine man who happens to be a brilliant neurologist and wants to help people. He has been treating my daughter for the last 3 years and has been nothing other professional, caring, and compassionate. He has a great sense of humour and has a way of making everyone feel at ease. Whoever posted the last comment needs to realise that this man is extremely busy he works long hours and cares for every one of his patients and is not driven by fame and fortune. He also takes the time to make visits and phone calls to check on patients on weekends when he should be with his family he has a life after all. The world is a much richer place with Peter Silburn in it as I am sure others who lives he has touched would agree. God bless you Peter and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Professor Silburn and his team performed DBS on my father who has suffered with Parkinsons Disease for 15 years. Drs in WA told him that the operation would do nothing for him but Dr Silburn gave it a go and my father is like the man he was 15 years ago. He is a lovely, down to earth man that is just so happy to have helped another person! If only there were more like him out there!

Dr Silburn
Is a very caring and honest man, he is very genuine. If it wasn’t for Dr Silburn my mother would be dead by now, he has saved her life. I am so grateful to him for all he has done for her and her Parkinson’s disease. I am so thankful that he treated my mother and I can’t say enough to praise him for his life saving brain surgery but its not just the surgery but the after care, he continues to care for my mother years later. A truly beautiful and kind man! I am so grateful to him and I wonder how my life would have turned out without him, for he has changed my life for the better. We are all so grateful to him in my family, because life without my mother would have been devastating. Thank you to one of the best Neurologists in the world! (Now we have hope!)

Highly recommend Dr Silburn who literally saved my life when I was suffering from meningo encephalitis. Nothing was a burden and he regularly checked on me and kept my family up to date with progress. I cannot praise Dr Silburn enough as I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for him. He has now progressed on to other parts of neurology but I am certain the underlying care factor and knowledge has progressed with him.

My family was one of those totally devastated by the aftermath of the DBS operation done by this man. There can be no “informed consent “ as we were not told about the real risks in having this operation. Especially the psychological and non motor fall out, Dr Silburn hides behind the Privacy Act when family members want help when left to care for a stranger after DBS. Read the coroners report and be assured that nothing has changed in his attitude and treatment of patients. Warm and pleasant before he takes your money and impossible to get answers from when things don’t work out. He has little respect among his peers who see him as a money grabber. To quote one of them verbatim “ He’s fine when there’s no problems. When there are, he doesn’t want to know.” Be prepared for that when you go to see him about the DBS op. He sells it to you as quickly as possible, then it’s ‘next please’. The Medical Ombudsman has a list of complaints about this man. Look somewhere else.
