Just wanted to add another voice to the glowing reviews for Prof Harvey. I have had recurring nasal polyps and asthma for the past 8 years, to the point where I couldn't breathe out of my nose or smell anything, constantly snored, slept badly, etc. I have had sinus surgery in the past with poor results (the polyps just grew back straight away), and was dead against the idea of any more surgery. On recommendation I drove from Canberra to see Prof Harvey, who recommended I try a biologic treatment (mepolizumab) and have surgery. The biologic improved my condition significantly - it seems to be a great treatment for some chronic patients. I wasn't sure about the surgery but decided to give it a go after Prof Harvey told me about his less invasive process, and explained the structural change that would occur post-surgery (basically creating a proper nasal passage that lets me use my steroid washes way more effectively). I had the surgery a few months ago, and as promised, the recovery was much more swift and easy than previously. The results have been amazing - I can smell, taste, breathe, exercise, sing, and just live a happier and more fulfilling life. Prof Harvey's holistic care - using a combination of the biologic treatment, steroid washes and surgery - has been a wonderful change from the various doctors I've seen in the past. He also has a very clear, friendly and practical manner, giving me confidence that I understand the rationale behind every step of the treatment plan. Highly recommend!

After years of severe chronic sinus disease I was fortunate to see Professor Harvey being interviewed on the evening news about a new treatment. After hearing him, I knew that he was the person that I needed to consult. Three years, a surgery and a very successful management regime in place, my life if transformed. I couldn’t be more pleased and would highly recommend Prof Harvey to anyone seeking treatment for management of sinus health.

Professor Harvey is extremely attentive and knowledgeable, assisting in uncovering an underlying problem that had been missed by other professionals. Throughout my journey he and his team have been accommodating in scheduling treatments and appointments and with each visit I have always felt welcomed.
I was referred to Professor Harvey by another Dr who spoke of him in very high regard and I can say with ease that being in Professor Harvey’s care has brought me huge comfort

It is impossible to fault Professor Harvey in any respect of his treatment & care. He made every effort to explain fully all aspects of the operation and subsequent treatment of my nasal problem. At 90 I am most thankful that I was referred to him when, after a bump on the head & subsequent scan it was discovered I had a fungal ball in my left nasal passage. Prior to the head scan my GP had been treating me for an infection in the nasal passage. I am most grateful to my GP for directing me to Professor

I broke my nose severely in mid November (surfboard) and presented at my local regional hospital, where I was told by the resident doctor that that the best thing was to wait for the injury to settle down and at some point in the new year go and see an ENT surgeon if I wanted to have the nose straightened. After a few days, the swelling settled down and it became obvious that my breathing was impaired, and also that my nose was slightly bent. I consulted another GP who agreed I should see a ENT surgeon but it wasn’t indicated that there was any urgency to this. However due to the Christmas break coming up, I wanted to expedite the process & I proceeded to get a CT scan in order to be ready for a specialist appointment. HCF recommended I go on their website to look at the ENT surgeons who work with them, and on their list I found Prof Harvey, who was listed as an expert in nose issues, and he was subsequently confirmed by a friend as a highly recommended Sydney ENT surgeon. I rang his surgery and upon hearing my situation, his assistant asked when the injury occurred and told me there was a timeframe of 3 weeks after injury within which a non-invasive procedure could be done where the nose could be repaired without re-breaking (ie. the bone hasn’t knitted yet). She then proceeded to obtain the CT scan from the radiologist in my regional town and rang me back within half an hour to say that Prof Harvey had viewed the scan and if I could get to his rooms that afternoon he would fit me into his schedule for a consultation. I could not believe how helpful and fast-acting these people were. Two days later Prof Harvey performed closed reduction surgery on my nose at Macq Uni Hospital, a 45 minute procedure under general anaesthetic where the nose and septum were straightened without me having to undergo a full rhinoplasty (which is a much longer, complicated and expensive operation where the nose is re-broken). A small plaster was put on the outside of my nose for a week, and one week after the surgery I saw Prof Harvey back at his rooms on his last working day before Christmas where he agreed that the operation had been a success. I was able to breathe normally and my nose is straight again. I am incredibly grateful I found Prof Harvey and that he and his team were so willing to change their schedules and squeeze me in for urgent surgery.
If you experience a broken nose which requires surgical repair, don’t hesitate to get in to see Prof Harvey as soon as possible after swelling has gone down.
