Do yourself a favor find another hospital this one could care less about you or your health . Cancer treatment is a joke!

I am a patient here at Medical City and I am severe pain, leukemia, and the NP Jackie Abraham along with her colleague MD Vikas Bhushan has the audacity to voice to me how she could not assist me with helping with the pain. She had the rudeness to say she is afraid of one becoming addicted. This is a review on the way this staff member/hospital has the gull to not assist the severe pain I'm in. Yes, another alternative was offered, hydrocodone. This will not help this causes sickness to the stomach and it does not help with the pain caused with the disease, the pain the state I'm in. I have so much more to put in this message but the nurse trying to help a bunch RN Jessica, she's brought heating packs. It's a Band-Aid but I'll have to use this for now. I will not ever want to be under their care ever. NP Jackie Abraham profiled me. I am a mother of 3, a decorated Security Officer who works in a corporate setting. I am far from an addict. I didn't ask for this disease. #f'cancer

I am so disheartened to share my experience at Medical City Plano. This has been my hospital of choice since my diagnosis of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2020. I've since had a biopsy there, a thyroidectomy there, a lumpectomy there… thus, I chose this hospital after my PCP conducted an EKG on me in her office on July 13, 2023 (I went in to see my PCP because I was running high blood pressure, which I do not suffer from HBP and shortness of breath) my PCP said my EKG was abnormal and she was calling an ambulance. The ambulance/EMT's arrived and took me to Medical City Plano. I arrived in the ER at approximately 12:30PM, they conducted a CTscan, a chest X-ray and concluded that there was fluid in my lungs and administered an injection of Furosemide. The ER doctor came in and said he'd like to admit me for observation and conduct further tests. The lady answering the call button was extremely rude. It was 5:30PM and I was still sitting there in an ER room with no updates. I would unhook myself to go to the restroom often and then just hook myself back up because she said the nurse was busy. I was starving since I hadn't had lunch; I asked the lady answering the call button if I could get an estimate on when I would be admitted to a room as I'd been there since 12:30PM and it was now 5:30PM, and she said, “you should be thankful, you're lucky you're getting a room, some patients have waited 48 hours or more, the nurse is very busy and she'll get to you as soon as she can.” The ER nurse was kind and apologized, she was a contracted nurse and said staff in that ER act entitled and act like it's not their job. The ER nurse apologized for the lady answering the call button as she gets bombarded with questions. The contract ER nurse ordered me dinner and apologized again. A different internal medicine doctor came to see me and said she'd like a full cardio work-up to find the root cause. I was finally admitted to a room on the third floor at 7:30PM. The nurse on the third floor was also very kind, her name was Jada. She was the only one that seemed calm, remarkable bed side manner and said it's too late to do anything as radiology has left for the day so all we can do is monitor you. Jada placed a heart monitor on me for telemetry and checked on me periodically throughout the night. The following morning I asked what time my echo was and she said, I've messaged the doctor because they have not ordered it yet. At 10:00AM, I asked again, do we know what the hold up is, the new nurse said, “we've messaged the doctor again to ask what the hold up is,” nothing was done the following morning, no X-ray, CT to check if the fluid in my lungs was gone, no echocardiogram. Nothing. The only person that came to see me on Friday, was registration to collect my hospital co-pay of $1500.00. That was collected on Friday, when really I spent the night for absolutely nothing! The same ER internal medicine doctor came to see me on the third floor, she looked absolutely exhausted, like she hadn't slept in days. I asked her what the hold up was, that since I was admitted they had done absolutely nothing. She asked why haven't they done your echocardiogram? I said, because it was never ordered. She checked her iPad and said, “I apologize, I forgot to order it.” She reiterated the same thing the contract nurse did in the ER, she said some staff act entitled like it's not their job. She apologized again and said “I'll tell the cardiologist to stop by and drop off his card, so that you can make an Echocardiogram appointment ASAP.” Long story short, I stayed the night for absolutely NO reason whatsoever; the only person that noticed I stayed over night and did something about it was finance/registration to collect their $1500.00. This could've potentially gone really wrong since they discharged me with no further information on my lungs or heart. Something has definitely changed for the worse at this hospital; I'll make certain to never go there again and tell absolutely everyone I possibly can.
