I'm so sad to write a bad review about a hospital. Before I begin, there are two oncology nurses; Nikki & Hayley that are unbelievably amazing. I came into the ER on a Friday afternoon. I collapsed from pain in my special education classroom then proceeded to vomit blood. I am a chronic pain patient but this intense intense acute stomach pain ontop of my chronic problems was too much to handle, I explained the staff that I have had terrible GI symptoms every single day since December 11 (I had c diff) and I've never gotten better. I've been seeking treatment for 10.5 months & have done every single thing that's been recommended. Nothing had worked. I typically go to stamford hospital but couldn't make it there with it being an emergency, I regret ever stepping foot in this hospital. They have not managed my pain at all. They admitted me with promised that they haven't held up. They had me take all these medications, that I do badly with, and it made me violently sick. I began fainting due to the pain, I fainted close to 10 times yesterday evening. They barely investigated, never hooked me up to a monitor, never hooked me up to fluids. They're treating me like I'm the problem because I take chronic medications. They've made assumptions about me without knowing anything about me or my history. It's been a terrible terrible experience. If it wasn't for those two nurses, I would've walked out. It has been traumatizing to say the least

The doctors and staff are great in the emergency room. Took me right away, did my x rays, taught me how to use crutches, and gave me instructions for follow up. Very clean hospital!

Norwalk Hospital is a really a shining example of what a hospital should be. The docs, nurses, and respiratory therapists there are really hard-working, dedicated guys and gals.

Cancer center was excellent, pleasant staff and specialists for radiation therapy for prostate cancer. Outpatient department very good for colonoscopies and cataract surgery. Always growing and adding new facilities. I have never been admitted as a patient.

Horrible attitudes were shown by about 75% of the staff, and 2 employees argued loudly outside my room door at 1am.One worker took my food tray away while I was still eating. One nurse was so viciously nasty that I almost checked myself out against medical advice to go somewhere else, even though my life would have been in danger. She had become ENRAGED because she was having difficulty getting blood from me, and was VERY rough. A doctor talked me out of it, I had my clothes on ready to walk out at 7am. Another nurse was a little nasty did apologize saying was "having a bad night", but the damage was done. The NOISE is ridiculous, non stop 24 hours a day. I like it quiet when I am 100% healthy, and being sick enough to be in a hospital and in such a noisy place-MUCH noisier than your typical office was NOT fun. I advise going elsewhere if you have a planned procedure. Norwalk Hospital is worse than a bad 1980’s horror movie. Lace up your sneakers and RUN!! SAVE YOURSELF!!! AAAHHH!!!
