I went to the Norwalk Hospital for a mental health crisis, I have PTSD. I went on the ambulance and the paramedics were lovely, but the nurses... I I kept asking when I was going to leave the hospital and they also said "I don't know, ask the doctor. " They gave me an Ativan for the anxiety I was getting in that hospital room. Once my mother got the doctor after waiting, he said he advised me to go to the psychiatric hospital, I began to panic and the nurse began to bombard me to calm down, I was shaking and crying and continued to bombard me, and my PTSD got triggered. My mother kept telling them to stay, and she continued to ask them to call my therapist in order to reason with me and calm me down, They didn't and I ended up screaming at nurses "STOP" twice. They kept telling me to calm down or I would be strapped down, and I was panicking even more. My mom kept telling them to stop because I had PTSD, and they didn't even know! I was crying and shaking and I said this was so unprofessional, Nurse asked why is it unprofessional. Well, you first took my phone and headphones away and my bra like 6 hours after I entered the emergency room, They should've done that once I got there, multiple people saw I was on my phone and didn't do anything. The nurses weren't aware that I have PTSD, the way they treated me triggered my PTSD, and had a panic attack because of them. We spoke up about it to the hospital staff, I will be filing a complaint. If you have to go to a hospital in Fairfield County for a mental health emergency, please go to Stamford Hospital or St. Vincent, I was advised that Norwalk Hospital has a lot of complaints. Don't go here, my therapist even said that I could've been traumatized from that experience, this place IS NOT ACCOMMODATING for people who have PTSD.

Norwalk Hospital's Sleep Disorder Clinic is awful in regard to patient relations. Eighty percent of time, calls to their office go to voicemail, and almost ALL voicemails are not returned. I recently switched to Norwalk Hospital's Sleep Disorder Clinic from Danbury Hospital's because it was closer to where I work. This office's unprofessional approach to taking and responding patients' calls made the transfer of medical files quite arduous. When they finally assisted me in transferring the files, they set up an appointment for me with Dr. Weir. On the day of my appointment traffic delays due to a major accident on the highway caused me to be 20 minutes late. Diligently, I called their office while en route to advise them; naturally, I got voicemail; I left a message asking for a callback if there was a problem. I did not receive a callback, so I did my best to get the office as quickly as I could. I arrived 22 minutes late. One desk staffer had no clue that I actually left a message, and another staffer curtly said to his co-worker, speaking of me in the third person, "He's 20 minutes late for a one o'clock, see if the doctor can still see him.” I was told that the doctor was in with a patient, and had a meeting following that patient's visit. When I asked how another patient could be in my spot -- did they double-book? -- I received a vague mumbled non-response. I was offered an alternate future date for an appointment, which I at first agreed to. But after leaving the office, I called back to tell them to forget it, throw out my paperwork, I'll find a better provider. Of course, I got voicemail – and I don't expect a callback. As a result, although I never got to meet with Dr. Weir to rate his care, I would also give him one star for the unprofessional manner in which his office is managed. I get it: medical offices must run lean, rent space is high, employees are expensive. Still, when a patient calls, there should be someone to pick up the phone, or at least someone to return voicemail messages. In my view this is a sleep clinic where the staff are all asleep.
