Worst experience ever. Waited for hours in emergency. Like 7 hours. People were leaving in horrible pain to go elsewhere. When your name finally gets called it's such a relief only to wait hours in another room. Presumably for stats reasons. People were groaning screaming and all sorts. Staff just walked past. Then if you were lucky enough to get in they gave you drugs and told you your bed was needed , so bye. I would bet some people died, some by suicide. I was given so many drugs I nearly died. No care. If you die well that's one less they have to deal with. No emergency in private hospital so no choice.

People need to complain about this hospital. I have been given pain killers over and over and told to wait for a scan .. 7 hours later still waiting. Nothing calm or quiet here with the staff being the loudest, banging doors, shouting when âspeakingâ to patients with one patient told loudly that he probably has an STI in front of everyone. Everyone comes here in pain, worried, scared only to get treated with no compassion n told âit’s a public holidayâ .. knowing it’s a public holiday put more staff on maybe?! It’s a public hospital and you are there to serve .. you are being paid to serve. We are paying you. DO YOUR JOB!

Six hour wait in A&E with very rude and arrogant triage nurse. Staff more interested in the various drunk people than people who were genuinely unwell. One staff member was spending time on her mobile phone rather than attend to her job admitting people. The doctor was fantastic once I finally saw him. We were from out of town and shocked by how filthy and by the low the quality of the staff. For a hospital in such a large centre it is shameful.

The amount of horrible experiences I have had at this hospital would take me days to write out. I have received some of the worst care and rudeness at this hospital than almost anywhere else at all, not just including medical places, which says a lot.
Worst thing they have done was sending me home with a packet of amoxicillin as I was going into septic shock. No joke, they sent me home with the most basic antibiotics. I walked right into my usual doctors office and he had to call the hospital HIMSELF to ensure I actually got treated.
The neglect and refusal to treat patients without having to be told to by another medical professional is disgusting.

Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had. I was taken there by ambulance after a car accident 2 days ago. The nurse was extremely rude and treated me like a junkie because I asked for something for the pain. The doctor saw me for a total of 60 seconds, proclaimed it was just a sprain and sent me on my way. I went to Shell Harbour hospital this morning and have found out I have 2 broken bones in my arm, I need emergency surgery, and that I may end up permanently disabled because it took so long to get (competent) help.
Taking these guys to court.

Worst experience ever. Eight years ago I was assaulted by the staff. I was 28 at the time which is well beyond the age of being a legal adult and being able to make my own decisions regarding my healthcare. For every invasive procedure, consent was not gained by me. It was gained by my mother who had no legal right to consent for me. In the space of 5 days I was assaulted 3 times. Twice by the staff by not gaining my consent for invasive procedures and once by my mother who consented to me having an invasive procedure. The doctor could clearly see that I was awake and coherent and refused to acknowledge that I needed to consent, but he did allowed my mother to consent for me. The reason being both the doctor and my mother came to the decision that because I was in pain that I didn’t know what was happening. If you enjoy being assaulted by the staff who also allow your parents to assault you then Wollongong Hospital is the place for you. Avoid this hospital at all costs
