Glenwood State Hospital School

The Glenwood State Hospital School, later known as the Glenwood Resource Center, was a state-run residential facility in Glenwood, Iowa, established in 1876. It provided long-term care, education, and habilitation services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. After a long history and various controversies, the facility officially closed in June 2024, and its services have been transitioned to other community-based programs.
