Hospital for Sick Children

The Hospital for Sick Children in Washington, D.C. was a historic pediatric hospital founded in 1870. It specialized in providing long-term care, rehabilitation, and subacute services for children with chronic illnesses and disabilities. The hospital closed its doors in 2006 due to financial challenges and changes in healthcare delivery models. Its services were partially transitioned to other local institutions, such as Children's National Medical Center. As of today, it is no longer an operational hospital.
