๐Overview
Avascular Necrosis, also referred to as osteonecrosis, occurs when blood flow to a bone is restricted, which leads to the death of bone tissue. This lack of blood supply can result in tiny breaks in the bone and the eventual collapse of the bone structure.
While the condition can affect any bone, it most frequently develops in the hip. Other common sites include the shoulders, knees, and ankles, where the loss of blood supply impairs the body's ability to maintain healthy bone tissue.
