📋Overview
Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) is a common viral illness primarily affecting children. It is characterized by fever, sores in the mouth, and a rash on the hands and feet. The condition is caused by several enteroviruses, most commonly coxsackievirus A16 and enterovirus 71. HFMD is contagious and spreads through direct contact with respiratory secretions, saliva, fluid from blisters, or feces. It is generally mild and self-limiting.
