๐Overview
Blisters, also referred to as vesicles or bullae depending on their size, occur when fluid collects between skin layers. This fluid, which may include serum, plasma, blood, or pus, typically acts as a protective layer for the underlying tissue during the healing process.
These lesions can be triggered by various factors such as repetitive friction, extreme temperatures, chemical exposure, or systemic medical issues. While frequently localized to the site of an injury, they may also appear as symptoms of certain viral infections, genetic factors, or autoimmune disorders.
