Hemophilia B, also known as Christmas disease, is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by a deficiency or dysfunction of clotting factor IX. It is a type of hemophilia distinct from Hemophilia A, which involves factor VIII deficiency. Hemophilia B leads to impaired blood clotting and increased bleeding risk, especially into joints and muscles.
