Hemophilia B
๐Overview
Also referred to as Christmas disease, this condition results from an inherited deficiency in a specific protein required for blood coagulation. It is clinically distinct from Hemophilia A, which involves a different clotting factor.
The lack of functional factor IX can lead to impaired blood clotting, which may result in prolonged bleeding or spontaneous hemorrhaging into muscles and joints.
