📋Overview

Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome involves the underdevelopment of critical structures including the left ventricle, mitral valve, aortic valve, and the ascending aorta. This structural deficiency significantly impairs the heart's capacity to pump oxygenated blood to the rest of the body.

In this condition, the right side of the heart must perform the work of both sides to maintain circulation to the lungs and the systemic organs. This anomaly is recognized as a critical congenital heart disease that is present from birth and requires clinical management.
