Mantle Cell Lymphoma
Calquence is used to treat adults with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), a fast-growing type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is prescribed in the following situations:
- For patients who have already received at least one prior treatment for their cancer.
- In combination with the medications bendamustine and rituximab for patients who have not been treated previously for MCL.
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma
Calquence is also used to treat adults with:
- Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL): A type of cancer that begins in the white blood cells in the bone marrow.
- Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (SLL): A cancer that primarily affects the lymph nodes and is closely related to CLL.

How to take Calquence
Calquence is available as a capsule or tablet to be taken by mouth. It is usually taken twice a day, approximately 12 hours apart. You can take this medication with or without food.
When taking Calquence, follow these instructions:
- Swallow the capsule or tablet whole with a glass of water.
- Do not crush, chew, break, or open the capsules or tablets.
- Try to take your doses at the same time each day to maintain a steady level of medicine in your body.
Missed doses
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if too much time has passed since the scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the regular time. Do not take two doses at once to make up for a missed one.
Special considerations
Certain medications that reduce stomach acid, such as proton pump inhibitors, may affect how Calquence capsules work. If you take antacids or other acid-reducing medicines, your healthcare provider may advise you to take them at a different time than your Calquence dose.
❗Suspected Overdose
Taking more than the prescribed amount of Calquence can be dangerous. If an overdose is suspected, seek emergency medical care immediately. Call 911 or contact Poison Control at 800-222-1222 for immediate guidance.
Pregnancy
Calquence can cause harm to a fetus if taken during pregnancy. Based on findings from animal studies, the medication may lead to decreased fetal weight and other developmental issues. Healthcare providers typically advise the following:
