This is the worst Dr I have ever seen! Any time you said anything he would role his eyes and huff, like “you don’t know anything” And he did not want to listen and also did not have a clue what was wrong and just gave topical cream. I would see anyone but him!

Don’t waste your time and expense going to this doctor. This is the worst experience I have ever had. He sent in some students to question me first. When he came in he picked up a magnifying glass, put it over my arm, had a look and told me in an insulting voice that I had infected hair folicles. He spoke briefly to the students and walked out. The students gave me a prescription for some cream and they walked out. Dr Lin wasn’t in the room more than 3 minutes. The cream didn’t work. I have recently seen a dermatologist, DR GORDON SEARLES. This is a Doctor. He recognized what he thinks is my problem within seconds but to be sure he took some skin samples to rule other diseases. Dr Searle also told me that all the creams in the world won’t have cured my problem. I was given some medication and follow up in a month to see how things are going. Now thats what a doctor really is. I personally think the medical administration of Alberta should pull Dr. Lins’ License to practice medicine.

I simply had a mole scheduled to be removed. Albeit a short encounter, he swept in, took a look at the mole and TUGGED on it without warning –OUCH! If he needs to do that to inspect, fine… but let the patient know first! That being said he has a horrible bedside manner, and in my opinion, lacks consideration for live human subjects. Do yourself a favour and ask your GP for another dermatologist referral. I also followed up with my GP after the fact and shared my experience. My GP admitted that he did have “a reputation for poor beside manner” (On that note, thanks for sending me to him, GP!). I only wished I would have checked this MD ratings site beforehand.

Saw Dr Lin every four months for more than a decade for treatment of various carcinomas. He was always helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Not full of humour but I don’t go to doctors for their bedside manor. I read recently that he has passed away, struck down by cancer. I will miss him.

Very unhelpful. Spent ~15 min. with med. student, only 2 min. with doc. Never smiled, argued with me over my own symptoms (confirmed by a previous doctor) and made no recommendations to help or solve problem. Ignored all the med. students previous questions and details. Would not recommend!

It was the worst doctor I have ever been to. It was for my 6 year old son and we were treated so poorly. I was asked to stop talking and asking questions because he was busy writing his notes. He had terrible bedside manner and scared my children. I would NEVER go back.

This doctor was one of the worst I have ever had. I had a very bad allergic reaction and instead of trying to get to the bottom of it, he decided he would rather do a biopsy on a mole on my back. Once he finished the biopsy (which came back fine), he told me that he could not do the patch test required to find out why I was having a reaction. I went to my family doc who assured me that the spot where the biopsy was done was fully healed. However, 3 weeks later when I finally got in to see him, he told me that he wasn't going to do the test because it might make it more difficult for him to read and he didn't feel like it . I once again told him about everything that I was going through but he didn't care. When I finally got in to the patch test they managed to skip half of my back (so even with the spot it should have been fine). When the results were in his intern came in and told me that I had had a serious reaction to a cosmetic preservative. He disagreed & argued with the intern.

Insist on a different referral from your GP if you have been referred here. We drove 6 hours to get a cancer scare about a birthmark without any other help. We went to check on a bubble on a birthmark which he said he'd burn with liquid nitro but was pretty sure it wouldn't do anything and that was something he was right about. He caused pain and fear in my child for nothing. However, without permission or explanation he burned me (the mother) repeatedly also, I can only give him the benefit of the doubt that it was to make my son feel better but he certainly didn't say that. I have a permament scar from this and we had to see another specialist that handled the bubble on the spot by cutting it out and we were not feared into cancer.

What a waste of time. He spent only two minutes with me and was extremely unhelpful. He was not friendly and did not listen to my concerns, just dismissed them. Instead he offered to burn me with liquid nitrogen as my only option. I would NEVER go to him again. Avoid him if you can.
