Wow, I just stumbled upon Dr. Jain's name while looking up someone else and noticed her rating. The negativity has left me saddened. She was a very caring doctor. She had some terrible family and personal health issues to deal with for about the last 8 years and retired early due to her own cancer. Her staff was not very forthcoming about her absences, I presume to protect her privacy. She was a legend in birthing and lactating. She was instrumental in getting the first birthing center in Calgary - moving away from the barbaric practices of the old 'labour and delivery' system. She has travelled the world teaching the virtues of breastfeeding over bottlefeeding. Babies everywhere grew into healthier adults because of her. I am glad MY daughter had the chance to know her. As someone with environmental sensitivity, I appreciated her "no perfume" rule.

Dr Jain was my Dr for a few years. I was always called in minutes before the end of my 1 hr appointment. Very frustrating for those of us who have other jobs or lives that we could be attending to. I was asked to return for test results, I asked if they could call me to return only if there were issues because I didn’t want to wait and hour to be told nothing is wrong. She left a horrid voicemail saying she didn’t want patients like me suggesting she was ripping off the system. I never suggested that, interesting she came to that conclusion. When I told her we weren’t ready quite yet for a baby she told me I should get a hysterectamy since I was clearly irresponsible only using condoms during that “not quite yet” phase. My husband also saw her and was discouraged from returning because he was healthy. Aren’t we trying to encourge more men to see their Dr? I am one of 5 friends who use to see her and found a MUCH BETTER doctor elsewhere.

I saw Dr. Jain at the Lakeview Clinic, as a Lactation Consultant. This was the worst experience of my lifetime. The office was VERY dirty and she was NOT helpfull at all. She put her finger into my babies mouth without washing her hands beforehand!!!!I felt bad I dragged my baby to see her!!!First of all I had to wait for an hour and when and I was finally admitted, she gave me no advice. She said I needed to increase my milk supply even though I had tons of milk…..and that was it!! She also told me “you have to leave now”!! WHO SAYS THAT to their patients!!! What a waste of AHC. Please, please never go there!!!!

Only one problem per visit. You had to come in for results. Only reason I stuck with her was because I was a health professional & basically only went for a yearly checkup. I actually liked the locums they were young and fresh out of school. I didn’t find out she closed her practice until I tried to book an appointment. Found an excellent new doctor now! Thank God

Good riddance – the only good thing about Dr. Jain’s clinic was her locums, Dr. Landy specifically. Michelle and Carolyn were terrific so it was no surprise they left. Dr. Jain was rude, condescending, and completely uninterested in her patients (she rarely bothered to see them). She was equally as bad as a lactation consultant, taking no time to really discuss my nursing problems. She showed no concern for my health or my childs. I was fortunate to have move to Dr. Landy’s practice at Circle Medical prior to her abrupt clinic closure (without any offer of assistance to find a new doctor).

Dr. Evelyn Jain had been my GP since my mother was pregnant with me. She was a fantastic doctor, very caring and kind and was very helpful with my many health problems and concerns. She is very personal and friendly and makes the appointment feel less like a doctors visit. She had to close her practice because she had breast cancer! Thats not her fault. She was very well known for her work with mothers and nursing especially. There were even articles about her in the paper years ago. She now works at a smaller practice. She notices my family when we see eachother outside of the clinic and stops to say hi and ask how things are going. Also knowing my interest in the medical feild has offered for me to come in and shaddow her whenever. I think she is a great GP and I hope her the best with her health.
