Abousilutly love him, he is so right in what he says in walking. May you all need to listen and take his advise. And not wast his time. My dearest friend went to see him, an was terrified to the Professor who wears the bow tie. He advised him to lose weight, walk, go on low carbs. He was dignose with stenosis . Michael did exactly what he said, and now pain free. Walk walk walk.... After all he is the professor.

Wow! What an arrogant, self absorbed so-and-so! My GP referred me to Brazenor on the basis that he is conservative when it comes to surgery which suited me to some extent as I wanted to continue with some quality of sport/living/life. Went to see this guy six weeks ago for damage to discs and loss of sensation in my left leg. Had the cursory reflex and pin prick test, watched me walk down the sort corridor to his reception and back and gave my scans a quick look before giving me his advice of loosing 10kgs using the 5/2 diet. I'm heavily involved in combat sports and relatively young (49). I'm big (100kgs) and I'm strong. The advice was to stop ALL activity, no swimming, no combat sports, no bending...... and walk for 40 minutes a day. He insisted I use a 'pick-up-stick' and not bend for any reason. Gave him my MRIs and CT scans and the radiographers notes pinpointing the 'issue' which he has chosen to ignore. Had a follow up appointment, now I have to have an isotopic bone scan and yet another MRI for what he believes to be possible nerve damage in my foot. When I questioned recovery, activity and the like he said that if I'd stop being so pigheaded about the advice he gave me it would heal!!! I'm not medically trained but how the hell do discs heal if they're completely ruptured??? He said there is nothing he can do to fix the problem in my spine. That's when he lost me! Looking for another neurosurgeon now. Disappointing to say the least.

Having being injured at work a few years ago I was sent to this arrogant, condescending Dr by a legal firm. I know why they chose him! Every report I have had previously had agreed with my diagnosis but this guy wrote a disgusting report without reading any prior history, said he wasn't qualified to look at my mri, did a very quick ordinary 'assessment' only checking my reflexes. Did not touch or look at my spine or shoulder which is where I have issues. He was not qualified to make judgement on my condition as I don't need surgery but took it upon himself to say I was acting, a liar, a work cover cheat. Not only did he completely discredited me but also every specialist I've ever seen to date. Very unprofessional, self absorbed, arrogant and has made it very difficult for me and my family financially.

No matter what your symptoms you will be told to walk. Easiest job ever, knows what he will say and give you before you even walk in the door and tell him your symptoms. Doesn’t work well with other practitioners, his way or the highway. Only believes in tramadol and panadol for pain relief, so you will be in a lot of pain post op. Your incision will be almost twice as long as what other neuro surgeons do. Arrogant and poor bedside manner, can look down upon patients at times and does not work well with other practitioners, condescending to nurses. Some have straight out said ” if you are proceeding with Mr Brazenor, I respectfully request that you no longer see me because I can already tell you what your treatment will be” walk, walk, walk, walk, walk. It will all be entailed in the same handout he gives everyone it looks about 25 years old

I saw this so called “surgeon” recently. I injured myself at work over 2 yrs ago. after physio, physiology, chiropractic n myotherapy care & orthopaedic surgeon & multiple scans/mri’s. no one could find what was wrong with my lower back problem. after extensive research, I chose to see “him”. I was told by many he was the best. even a dr I was seeing, that used to train with him said I couldn’t be in better hands. how wrong we all were. he was arrogant and unprofessional. he seemed to treat me as if I was of a lower class. he seemed as if he couldn’t be bothered. he said he had no idea what was wrong with me & couldn’t help me. even his registrar, another neurosurgeon seemed surprised by his attitude & lack of care. he was supposed to be the best of the best…..WRONG. and when I asked if could he explain why I was still in so much pain, even though he agreed I was on a lot of heavy pain medication. he said “i don’t know”. the best advice he could give me was “stop feeling sorry for yourself, get off your **** & go for a walk”. well no.1, I don’t feel sorry for myself at all, thank you very much. and if that’s the best he can do, then I have no idea how he got to where he is? what a disappointment. maybe it was because I was a south Australian workcover patient??? so off to see a “real” neurosurgeon in Melbourne again soon. can’t get a worse response than what “he” gave me.

I’ll save you time and tell you if not a spinal fusion you will be sent on a walking expedition of up to 8 km a day, with several hours of laying down as if you are in a coffin.
Didn’t look at the complete picture only my mildly degenerated disc. Turns out I actally require hip surgery and pelvic stabilisation. (Sacroiliac joint) The walking aggravated everything, everyone gets the same program. Very pro spinal fusion, didn’t even want to wait.
I’m sure he good if your on the operating table but wanted to perform a fusion that was in my case very ill advised.
