Was recommended by my local Gp due to a complex case of sciatica. Cannot believe the care factor ‘0’ attitude from this man, he clearly doesnt want to be there. He absolutely won’t return phones calls persobally, and will only speak to you through his receptionist? Upon our first meeting with him, all he did was give myself and my partner a hard time regarding weight loss (when we’re even actually quite healthy) , then he just said go home, lay down for 5wks and you’ll be right? Suggestions in which he provided it were unrealistic and down right pigheaded… no bending what so ever, no sports what so ever, no sitting on couches or stools and just walk ALL THE TIME! After leaving that 1st appt i was guttered, after being in such bad pain for so long, then be recommended to seek help from the ‘best surgeon ‘ in melbourne to only be left insulted and frustrated. It was highly evident he didn’t want to see me, and keen to just leave for the day. Giving the benefut if the doubt we went to our 2nd so called follow up appt @3pm. He was 15mins late, with another patient, that’s fine we understand such things can happen however, this was the final straw… what was meant to be a half hour consultation, turned into a very rushed 6min appt. He had a family function in which he had to leave for at 3.30pm , therefore he cut the appt to 6mins? He rudley kicked us out, gave me NO suggestions moving forward and then happily left for the day… it took us 1hr to travel and see him for a 6min appt which still costed us over $150.00? Absolute rubbish! As many others have explained, i also am confused as to how this man is helpful or is deemed the best? He may be good conducting surgeries however, with such poor empathy, respect & compassion abilities, I’m sorry wouldn’t waste my time which i wont be! If your seeking someone to just insult, look down on and waste your time, this us the ‘doctor’ for you!

terrible foul doctor who dosent care what injuries patients have suffered. treats workcover people like scum. no interest in the health of anyone who has had back surgery run for the hills before being degraded by this man

Didn’t like him at all, have cancelled my next appointment, Very arrogant, rude, looked down at you, also told me to ignore everything I had been told by my surgeon, not to do phiso, hydrotherapy, never sit on a lounge chair etc. Didn’t look at MRI, X-rays etc that I was told I MUST bring with me, He knew what he was going to say before I walked in & gave me the same printed handout that he gives everyone. Always wary of surgeons wearing bow ties. Only went to him because my wonderful surgeon, who I have been seeing for a long time has taken 12 months leave because of ill health. Would never recommend him to my worst enemy.

This doctor recommended walking for me also, but it did not help.

Abousilutly love him, he is so right in what he says in walking. May you all need to listen and take his advise. And not wast his time. My dearest friend went to see him, an was terrified to the Professor who wears the bow tie. He advised him to lose weight, walk, go on low carbs. He was dignose with stenosis . Michael did exactly what he said, and now pain free. Walk walk walk…. After all he is the professor.

I saw this so called "surgeon" recently. I injured myself at work over 2 yrs ago. after physio, physiology, chiropractic n myotherapy care & orthopaedic surgeon & multiple scans/mri's. no one could find what was wrong with my lower back problem. after extensive research, I chose to see "him". I was told by many he was the best. even a dr I was seeing, that used to train with him said I couldn't be in better hands. how wrong we all were. he was arrogant and unprofessional. he seemed to treat me as if I was of a lower class. he seemed as if he couldn't be bothered. he said he had no idea what was wrong with me & couldn't help me. even his registrar, another neurosurgeon seemed surprised by his attitude & lack of care. he was supposed to be the best of the best.....WRONG. and when I asked if could he explain why I was still in so much pain, even though he agreed I was on a lot of heavy pain medication. he said "i don't know". the best advice he could give me was "stop feeling sorry for yourself, get off your **** & go for a walk". well no.1, I don't feel sorry for myself at all, thank you very much. and if that's the best he can do, then I have no idea how he got to where he is? what a disappointment. maybe it was because I was a south Australian workcover patient??? so off to see a "real" neurosurgeon in Melbourne again soon. can't get a worse response than what "he" gave me.

I'll save you time and tell you if not a spinal fusion you will be sent on a walking expedition of up to 8 km a day, with several hours of laying down as if you are in a coffin. Didn't look at the complete picture only my mildly degenerated disc. Turns out I actally require hip surgery and pelvic stabilisation. (Sacroiliac joint) The walking aggravated everything, everyone gets the same program. Very pro spinal fusion, didn't even want to wait. I'm sure he good if your on the operating table but wanted to perform a fusion that was in my case very ill advised.

Mr Brazenor has saved my wife twice through emergency surgery on two Berry Aneurysms spread across an 18 year period. I can't rate the man high enough. He is an absolute legend in my eyes. Professional, polite and a damn great surgeon.
