I saw Dr. Ingrid Jarvis several times, years ago, and finally left in disgust. At my last appointment she was quite rude; she spent about 1-2 minutes with me, dashed off a prescription, and practically pushed me out the door. As far as I could tell, she was working through a list of commonly used medications for my condition - if the last one didn't work, she just prescribed the next one on the list. She was unwilling to answer my questions, and when I asked for her opinion on a treatment being used by another local dermatologist she gave only a sarcastic response (and still did not answer my question). The positive reviews on this site make me think that she has either improved drastically since I last saw her, or maybe that she does not relate well to teenagers. Either way, I would suggest that you try to find another dermatologist.

Took my mother to Dr. Jarvis for a bad skin rash that has tormented her for months. Dr. Jarvis made very useful suggestions, mother already feels better. As important, Dr. Jarvis was extremely kind and patient, excellent manner with an anxious patient. Also, we were in a consulting room within 10 minutes after our appointment time and then saw the doctor maybe 10 minutes after that. So I certainly don’t have a complaint about wait times. Much shorter than with other doctors.

I always dread going to see Dr. Jarvis (I have finally found another dr to replace her). So true what the last person wrote about the theatrics of cancelling one hour beforehand or cancelling appointments that I wait 6 months for in a matter of moments to have it rescheduled in another month. I was always fed up about getting there for the first am appointment and then having to wait 1.5 hours to say the least to see her. Most waiting times are 1.5 – 2.5 hours to see her – and all of the patients in her waiting room just cringe and talk softly about how rude she is by having her keep us waiting at every appointment. Yes she always upsells that $200 serum and is already billed on my receipt and she stands there for me to pay for it. She rarely gives me a prescription and always talks about $$$ procedures. The wait times and sudden cancellations far outweigh the OHIP medical advice. I feel free that I have left and should have left much sooner.

As a physician, let me say she is a shame to the profession. I used to like Dr Jarvis when she was at Women’s college for her very thourough skin checks for melanoma. Unfortunately lately, as most dermatologists in Toronto, she has become more and more interested on the easy and quick money coming from cosmetic procedures. I had my long awaited appointments cancelled twice in a row less than 1 hour before with the excuse of her being on call, after the usual theatrical sequence of phone calls regarding her running late. As a physician I never heard of a dermatologist having a call emergency, you can imagine twice in a row! If you need botox, she may be great for you, if you need real and possibly life saving skin care go elsewhere.

Awesome. Took lots of time to review everything with me. Front desk was exceptional.

DR. Jarvis treated me for my birthmark removal..my first appointment was ok however she didn’t seem to know what she was doing..my second appointment was even worse..after telling her I had no results from my first one she decided to experiment and in the end she left me a beautiful scar in the middle of my face..It’s not bad enough that I have a birthmark I hate now I have a purple scar to add to the beauty..Overall I would not recommend her for Lazer birthmark removal.
