I was referred to Dr. Shapiro from SK and I received an appointment within one week and surgery was scheduled that same week. He was excellent - he answered all our questions honestly and treated me with the utmost respect and concern. I could not have been happier with the care I received.

Wonderful, wonderful doctor, surgeon and human being. Scheduled me in for surgery within a week or two of my consultation. Did a wonderful job, without any complications.

My husband struggled with a dangerously low platelet count for over 4 years. Every treatment tried was unsuccessful. When he saw Dr. Shipiro to discuss the removal of his spleen it was the very last hope. The surgery was a success and we were both very impressed with Dr. Shipiro. He was kind and compassionate and although busy took time to answer questions and keep us informed of what we needed to know both before and after surgery. We highly recommend him.

Did my liver transplant. Great surgeon and a nice guy in my experience. Very busy of course, and one must take that into account when rating things like "helpfulness." I found him approachable, respectful and caring. This guy does 12 hour surgeries routinely, in the middle of the night, with no notice. He's not going to have a lot of time for talking, but he saw me several times while I was in hospital.

Dr. Shipro is recommending surgery even though my results for my pancreas is showing on the MRI on my pancreas is a tissue, tissue shows it has decreased in size but still recommending to have surgery.

Dr. Shapiro was amazing dealing with me regarding an emergency gallbladder operation, cleaning up another surgeons issues.
he checked in everyday on rounds and twice on the day I was discharged.
I found him to be very approachable and he explained everything to me answerinjg any questions I had.

Dr. Shapiro should lose his OR priviledges and should not be a professor of anything. He is nasty, secretive and a butcher.

Dr Shapiro was amazing. He was professional, and had expert advice. He always took the time to meet you and answer your questions personally. He also came saw me 5 minuters before surgery as well. He provided such excellent care. It gave me great comfort to know that this skilled surgeon was looking after me. His team of staff and excellent as well. All very knowledgeable, hardworking and providing great care for the patient. I would absolutely recommend this surgeon.

Dr. Shapiro is a busy surgeon and I’ve wait hours past my appointment time to see him but once you do, he’s kind, gives you the information about your surgery, and to the point. The staff do their best but they seem stressed due to the busyness. I had my surgery date moved a few times but on the day of, I felt very comfortable and in good hands with Dr. Shapiro and his team, the follow up appointment was a long wait and a short visit as my surgery recovery went well.
