Dr. Pollock is VERY good at what she does. She is knowledgeable in the area of child eye health. Yes, the wait can often be long and the amount of time we are at the clinic inconsistent from one year to the next...This is what it is like to get care with a specialist in Alberta. Dr. Pollock is an abrupt, no-nonsense kind of Doctor. She knows her stuff and I trust the specialized care she has been giving my daughter these last couple of years. Dr. Pollock has never treated our family or my child unkindly or with rudeness. She has been happy to answer and and all questions that I have during our appointment. I love and appreciate that the Stollery is a teaching hospital, one where expertise and knowledge is passed along, directly to the next generation. Dr. Pollock is a doctor of the eye, not the emotions, and I am fine with that, as the issues I am bringing my daughter to Dr. Pollock for are related to eye heath.

This is one of the most terrible doctors and clinics we have dealt with in our life. Foremost is the issue that this doctor issued a prescription to my child that was a complete failure and error. The Px was half of what it was supposed to be. My child spend 6 months struggling at school because of a “typo” from the “staff in the front”. Then, guess who was stuck with the bill for the new Px? Absolutely no offer to help with the cost of new lenses. How does this happen? Kids eyes adjust and kids adapt very well to prescriptions. It’s common for them to simply “not know” that their glasses aren’t doing what they’re supposed to. So… if you’re bringing your child here, beware. As others have mentioned, anticipate at least one hour behind your appointment time, and don’t anticipate any transparency or empathy from the front staff. They don’t care and are rude 100% of the time if you ask for any update. Your time has no value.
Once you get in, you’ll appreciate that her bedside manner is really good, especially with kids.. But your time is no value here, and if you ever encounter a mistake, don’t anticipate accountability for the mistake. My prognosis: great doctor with terrible support staff.

We see Dr Pollock a few times a year with our little girl. She’s very good with her and is not in a rush when she’s with you. She is excellent when examining her and is great with kids. She’s flexible with her schedule as we have to make other trips for other drs there as well. She will make sure both appointments will line up. She very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things to us. Sometimes there’s a wait to get into our appointment but that’s every doctor.

Absolutely terrible! We had to sit in a waiting room for an hour and half! While i was sitting there for that long only 2 patients were called in. She’s extremely dry! For being a pedratic doctor they should really manage their time better! And she should really learn how to crack a smile

Dr. Pollock has been a fantastic doctor for my daughter. She always takes the time to explain the changes in her strabismus, answer any questions that I have, and describing next steps for treatment or future surgery. Her staff are equally professional, taking the time to answer questions, explain results, and of course – they are great with kids!
