Dr. Pollock has been a fantastic doctor for my daughter. She always takes the time to explain the changes in her strabismus, answer any questions that I have, and describing next steps for treatment or future surgery. Her staff are equally professional, taking the time to answer questions, explain results, and of course - they are great with kids!

Very disapointed . Waited in the waiting room for over 2 hours . My son is in a wheelchair chair. When the apt finally came she was veey annoyed that my exhausted son would not open his eyes as he waited in the waiting room after dilation for an hour . She dis alot of sighing and was very dismissive and insensitive. I was shocked at how rude she was. When the apt ended she handed me my sons new prescription. I asked if his eyes have gotten better as it’s been a while since he’s been sick that e have had his eyes checked . She started laughing and said no they are worse. Her bedside matter is horrible. I left very upset and emotional.

I’m actually kind of shocked at some of the reviews here. Dr. Pollock (and her students/staff) have always been SO good with my kids, and she seems very open to seeing them if anything unexpected comes up which I appreciate. I’ve seen her more than a handful of times with both of my kids and she’s always been gentle and considerate, never rude or impatient.
I will say that there does seem to be a significant wait for appointments (outside of the ones that need the dilating dye), so that can make it tough when your littles are so young.

Dr. Pollock is VERY good at what she does. She is knowledgeable in the area of child eye health. Yes, the wait can often be long and the amount of time we are at the clinic inconsistent from one year to the next…This is what it is like to get care with a specialist in Alberta.
Dr. Pollock is an abrupt, no-nonsense kind of Doctor. She knows her stuff and I trust the specialized care she has been giving my daughter these last couple of years. Dr. Pollock has never treated our family or my child unkindly or with rudeness. She has been happy to answer and and all questions that I have during our appointment.
I love and appreciate that the Stollery is a teaching hospital, one where expertise and knowledge is passed along, directly to the next generation. Dr. Pollock is a doctor of the eye, not the emotions, and I am fine with that, as the issues I am bringing my daughter to Dr. Pollock for are related to eye heath.

Absolutely terrible and insensitive physician. She has zero compassion, zero patience to address concerns and questions, extremely poor communication skills and terrible attitude as a doctor. She is rude, doesn’t care about her patient or family. My paediatrician referred my child to her and she has seen my child just one time after a year and only after I insist. My child then shows complications on her eye. She was very cold and didn’t answer my questions nor address my concerns, instead she kind of blamed me and didn’t acknowledge the fact that she didn’t see or examined my kid for such a long time and she blamed our paediatrician as well and said the complications might happen when we were seeing our paediatrician. The appointment was very frustrating and left with more questions than answers. She doesn’t care and she shows that clear and loud. All the time she discusses with her medical students without any sensitivity saying all the scary medical terms which I totally understand as if my child is a training doll. I never want to see her again and my paediatrician referred my kid to another paediatric ophthalmologist. Highly NOT recommended.
