I know the covid restrictions aren't his fault but I've been waiting to get my osteomy reversed since last May... they're lifted now I haven't heard from him in a few months. He kept saying I'm not missing out on much but he doesn't realize how much it affects me emotionally.

Dr. Snelgrove is an amazing doctor and person. Before I got to see hm I was in a terrible condition. Lost 40 lbs due to Crohns and Cdiff infection, prednisone was no longer working, had emergency bowel resection and suffering for over a year. I was expected to wait 3 years for surgery until I contacted him directly via email to explain that if I don't have the surgery soon, I won't be able to finish school. He graciously booked me for consultation right away and during which he thoroughly explained the benefits and risks of J pouch surgery. The surgery was successful and I was able to finish school and now I am working. It's been almost 4 years and I wished I could have thanked him more.

I consider myself very fortunate to have Dr. Snelgrove perform bowel resection surgery on my in Dec 2019. I was very sick, in lots of pain and was unable to eat most foods. I was living off of jello and ensure for months. Within a month after the surgery I and able to eat almost everything and after a year I've gained almost 40 lbs. I honestly don't think I would be here if it wasn't for the amazing talent of Dr. Snelgrove.

Dr. Snelgrove is an amazing surgeon. He completed one of the most challenging rectal cancer surgeries in November of 2019, and not only was the operation a complete success, but he also was able to save my quality of life for years to come! I consider myself very fortunate to have been blessed with his surgical talent and skill in the operating room and wish to thank him and all the fine staff at the University of Alberta Hospital and the Cross Cancer Institute. I am now cancer free!

Our first appointment in April of 2018, regarding colorectal cancer with Dr. Snelgrove left my wife and I with a total sense of peace and confidence in this doctor. Dr. Snelgrove sat with us, took out a sheet of paper and pen and discussed the cancer, surgical options, treatments and then wrote out his suggestions, drew diagrams and answered our questions in a caring straight forward manner. Over the next 9 months, through 8 hours of surgery, meeting us daily at the hospital, in recovery and through followups we grew to appreciate this kind, knowledgeable man who took such good care of me. Thanks so much Dr. Snelgrove.

When I was admitted to the Uof A Hospital suffering from C Diff I was fortunate to get Doctor Snelgrove as my physician. He was professional in all aspects and walked me and my family through choices. He also accepted information that my daughter Brough forward and subsequently used it for my betterment. I have a tremendous amount of respect for this person as a Surgeon and a carrying person . He is the best.

Dr. Snelgrove showed great empathy, with us as we had to deal with the diagnosis to have my colon removed. He came and answered all of our questions (over and over), visited me in hospital daily pre/post op! His kindness and knowledge gave me courage to move forward to recovery. With the U of A being a teaching hospital, Dr. Snelgrove had with him young doctors, who joined in with my care. These Doctors were as equally kind and knowledgeable. making Dr Snelgrove a great mentor also.

In November 2017 Dr. Snelgrove surgically removed nearly half of my colon following a diagnosis of colon cancer. My recovery was uneventful and nearly painless because the surgery was performed laparoscopically. I found Dr. Snelgrove was knowledgeable, caring and he answered all of my concerns. My experience prior to surgery and after was excellent. I would recommend Dr. Snelgrove to anyone. He is the best and I am a grateful patient.
