My experience at Dupont Hospital went extremely well. The nursing staff were very caring and efficient, working together in a professional manner. I could not be more satisfied. I appreciated it very much when the doctor came in an explained the procedure to me.

Nursing care of my Alzheimer's husband was very very good. Very patient not bothered by anything. Surgery went fine. What was wrong? No valet service. No valet service and I have an arthritic spine my husband walks with a walker and has dementia. No way to take him in find a place to sit anybody to help us get a wheelchair nothing. You really need to rethink this valet service. Also should reconsider that elderly people walking with a cane or walker or bent over probably don't want to stand at a desk and answer 1000 questions. why in heavens name don't you have a sit down area at the front desk and at the surgical desk ?

Staff was nice. ER staff and physcian did not bother looking in my eyes, nose or mouth though I was there for an allergic reaction that caused half my face to swell and I told them the week prior I had a severely swollen tongue. ER did not go over my. ist of daily meds I take. I was there over 6 hours before they had a bed and no pne came in my room the last. 2 hours. I was supposed to be admitted to med surg for observation but they only had ICU beds. The ICU nurses where wonderful. Medical staff just pulled in so many directions by demands of insurance, government and hospital administration that basic care gets lost. Be your own asvocate people. Ask questions, make them double check meds. I heard them planning to give me the same type of med that caused my reaction. I stopped them 3 times to check. The nurses where fine abiut it and understood my hesitation. They had the correct med but where calling it by the wrong name. It's like this everywhere. Not necessarily a reflection on the facility as much as our entire healthcare system. This doesn't make it right and it's how people get hurt.
