Transient Acantholytic Dermatosis
๐Overview
Transient acantholytic dermatosis, also known as Grover disease, is a skin disorder involving the temporary loss of structural connections between skin cells, a process known as acantholysis. This disruption results in the formation of small, red, and often pruritic papules primarily located on the trunk.
The condition is generally considered a focal dermatosis and is frequently observed in older adults. Although the rash can cause significant discomfort due to itching, it is typically benign and localized to specific areas of the skin.
