Dr. Nohr has a God complex. He decides who get treatment and who doesn’t. He will not help you if you have tattoos,if you smoke, if you are not his religion. He absolutely said no to a test my doctor ordered because I was a smoker and refused treatment to a friend’s son because of tattoos. That friend worked in the ER with him. Did a lot of apologizing but damage was done. He is a bigot as far as fat people go as well but he will be nice to you because that is what makes him money. I have reported him to CPSA, Alberta Health Services, Minister of Health and nothing was done. I will keep going until something is done. Human Rights is next. He is a discriminator and nobody will do anything here because he brings in money with his weight loss surgeries. And that is a religious man. Mr. Nohr: Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you will have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things. But for good people to do bad things it takes religion. SW

Kind and helpful. He removed my gall bladder and has performed many colonoscopies for me. When my diagnosis was a disease he wasn’t familiar with, he referred me to a specialist. Very warm. I have no doubt in his capabilities. He treats me like a human being; not a case.

Anybody who complains about Dr. Nohr is insane! He is a fantastic surgeon, and he actually cares about people. I was lucky enough to have open gastric Bypass with him and I recovered great, no complications. He came to visit me during my stay in the hospital every chance he got. He even made small talk (which was richhh) with me at one point. He made sure I was feeling fine and I trust him more than any doctor in Medicine Hat. GREAT DOCTOR, fantastic staff, and I look forward to seeing them in the future for checkups:)

Dr.Nohr is fantastic! 3 year wait for my initial consult. Dr.Nohr agreed to do a RNY for me. I opted for open as it took a years wait time off. I got on the cancellation list and had my procedure within 6 months. He expects you to have done your homework and know what you are in for. He has no real program and the lack of funding is not his fault. Want a program lobby your MLA for funding. Dr.Nohr was pleasant every time he saw me. His smiling at me while I waited for surgery was about all that kept me there. His reassurance was invaluable. I chose to see Dr.Nohr for a one year follow up and he offered me a panniculectomy. The wait time was very short. He is only paid about 450.00 from the govt for the panni surgery but he did a full tuck on me. I have an anchor incision, a new belly button, and a smile from ear to ear and he tightened the muscles above the BB. I can’t thank him enough and his receptionist is wonderful too. Thank you Dr.Nohr for the extra 7 years on my life!

Dr. Nohr was great! From the time of my referral to him, to surgery date was under a year as I was put on the waiting list. Surgery went perfectly and I recovered perfectly. And for the person who said he refused surgery because of them being a smoker, he should. It’s very dangerous for smokers. Also, I have tattoos and that was never a question and either was my religious status. He is a great doctor and without him, I would still be so very unhealthy. Thanks to him, I have found myself again and am so happy.

omg...If Dr.Nohr wanted to get rich he would be in the States at a private clinic not here in Alberta...I thank God everyday for that Doctor...I am forever grateful for all that he has done for me. I happen to know what he gets for Gastric bypasses ....and in comparison to the US Doctors....He is making peanuts....The fact is he should be making far more...The Mother load for surgery is South of the border. We are lucky to have him...and I hope he stays in Canada..and continues to do what he does...I am forever grateful to this Doctor.

After a 2 Year 7 Month Wait I Had The Opportunity To See Dr. Nohr. He Seemed Very Knowledgeable, To The Point, And Honest. I Applaude That In Him, And I Look Forward To A Future Meeting

dr. nohr may treat his bariatric patients well, but i can't say the same for patients needing emergent surgery! his bedside manner was awful, he treated a nurse badly and he provided no information about follow-up care. he seemed very pre-occupied when he finally came by the room and left without answering any questions. maybe her family doc. will relay info. about the surgery and what we need to do next.

I'm not really sure why Dr. Nohr is doing this surgery. There is no sych evaluation, and there is no follow up help. I have become addicted to much worse things than food after having this surgery and there is no help. Dr. Nohr is NOT a good doctor and I would never recomend anyone to seek his counsel. I would also advise you to get your tummy tuck elsewhere!!! Mine is horrible and all he he has told me to do (in my 1 follow up appt in 5 yrs) is to wear clothes that are'nt too tight!

Dr. Nohr has the absolute worst bedside manner of any doctor that I have had an encounter with. He inconsiderate of most of his staff, especially the nurses. After my surgery, there were many instances where he was completely out of line with things that he had told my family. He had no class at all. However, he did do my surgery quite well but it's like love and marriage. You can't have one without the other. You need to have an acceptable bedside manner.
