I first met with Dr. Nohr in 2002. He is by FAR the most knowledgeable surgeon I have ever met (I've had 6 abdominal surgeries). He is often mistaken for being rude or uninformative. I have found that if you are willing to acknowledge that the world doesn't revolve around YOU, Dr. Nohr is FANTASTIC. He does make the assumption that you have done some research, as any responsible adult would. So he doesn't behave as though HE is the sole bearer of support and information. He has done two surgeries for me and I found him to be very compassionate, very caring and a lil' funny. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Life is about your own perspective. Surgeons can't cure you...they can simply assist your journey.

I’m not really sure why Dr. Nohr is doing this surgery. There is no sych evaluation, and there is no follow up help. I have become addicted to much worse things than food after having this surgery and there is no help. Dr. Nohr is NOT a good doctor and I would never recomend anyone to seek his counsel. I would also advise you to get your tummy tuck elsewhere!!! Mine is horrible and all he he has told me to do (in my 1 follow up appt in 5 yrs) is to wear clothes that are’nt too tight!

Dr. Nohr has the absolute worst bedside manner of any doctor that I have had an encounter with. He inconsiderate of most of his staff, especially the nurses. After my surgery, there were many instances where he was completely out of line with things that he had told my family. He had no class at all. However, he did do my surgery quite well but it’s like love and marriage. You can’t have one without the other. You need to have an acceptable bedside manner.

After seeing Dr. Nohr I felt a lot better about my decision to have open RNY. He did assume I had done research prior to the appt (I had done a LOT) and seemed rather abrupt but before and after surgery he checked in with me to make sure I knew what was going to happen and to make sure I was ok. I was very impressed to have seen him almost every day I was in hospital. The follow-up was good too and I hope he doesn’t retire before I need follow-up surgery! (It could be a few years til I need it – like 10ish…) Also, his office staff are really nice, knowledgable and caring and the nursing staff (for the most part) at the hospital on the bariatric ward were incredible!

I Saw Dr Nohr in the ER after complications with a ostomy reversal from another Dr.I ended up in his care for 6 weeks. The unfortunate thing with Dr. Nohr is he does not comunicate well and is not very personable, I would almost say in a Aspergers sort of way.Although I never had any surgery from him, all the staff I met over the weeks in the Medicine Hat and Brooks hospitals thought very highly of him. Dr Norhr’s personality aside I found that he was competent and helped me when I was most definatly not at my best. I would feel Confident in his abilties as a surgeon and would hope if I needed another operation Dr Nohr would be one of the first people I would call on to operate on me.
