This man is not s Doctor. He constantly gives you contradicting advice. “Eat dairy… don’t eat dairy. Avoid caffeine… drink lots of black tea” he seems to have zero actual medical knowledge especially about GI diseases. Worst of all though he is extremely sexist! He would only speak to my friend who he assumed was my husband and kept saying I should have children since I am married. Don’t see this man! And if you have seen him please report him.

Just came back the other day visiting him. Did not care about the illness. Just told us to use Herbs & Vitamins and tell us to Mentally think of a cure…

Really really disrespectful and quite scary man as a women.

Honestly I’m thinking of reporting him for telling me to stop taking drugs like my prednisone, calcineurin inhibitor… Without this I would have an organ rejection from the transplant I had…

At my appointment last week I was discussing with him how I was having intestinal issues after returning from Mexico. He spent a majority of my appointment scolding me and not acknowledging my symptoms. There was a medical student in the room and at one point he turned to her and stated “this is what is wrong with this culture. In Asian cultures the parents help out and support their children but in this culture they don’t so that’s why she doesn’t take her medication”. I was flat out floored that he said that in front of my face. So completely unprofessional and RACIST. He’s very rude, judgemental and has unrealistic expectations. I can’t wait to move back West and go back to my previous GI.

I saw him for a consult when my regular doctor was not available. He was Very JUDGEMENTAL and very rude. He said I did not deserve his help unless I complied with a long list of things he gave me to accomplish before he would treat me. I don’t think he understood my illness at all. he seemed quite confused about my treatments. He did not seem all that interested in even offering a medical opinion ( if he had one) . He was very obsessed with vitamins and lifestyle yet all the practical things on his silly list I did already and the others were either not relevant, not his business, would interfere with another doctors treatment (which he had no respect for, I guess he felt he was the only doctor that mattered??? not sure.) His bedside manner was terrible. He was even raising his voice to me. He did no medical exam or want to do any medical tests which was fine with me because I never wanted to see him again either.

I’ve just returned home from my first appointment with Dr. Raman. What a great surprise he was! This very special person spends as much time with each patient as he feels is necessary and he was very late. He came out of his examining room and took my arm and helped me to his office..pulled out the chair and helped me sit down. I have a cane and walk bent forward as I have adult onset degenerative scoliosis. He then told me..about me .. as he had read my medical history even back to the 1980’s. I was amazed at his preparedness for my visit. He listened well, made notes while I talked and covered all my concerns very thoroughly. At the end of the visit, he helped me out of my chair, and made an offer to carry my purse and tote bag to the waiting room for me,,which I accepted gratefully! He looked so blasted cute walking with my purse!!! LOL..then he said “I’m going to carry these to your car too..would you like that? well..of course I liked that! What a sweet, caring man. He is all of 74 years old and works 18 hours a day. Who would fault him for being late? He gives each one of us all the time we need in order to understand what we should do for ourselves once we’re back at home, and discusses options with you instead of “telling you h ow its going to be.” So when we walked through the waiting room with two more patients waiting there..they watched with curiosity at him carrying my things out the door and I looked back and said, “I’m taking him home!” So we arrived at my car and he put my things in the back seat and then took my hand and wished me well, reminded me that he’d see me in six months, and then he said that with all the illnesses I had, he was very pleased to see that I could still smile and be happy. How nice was that!!! If anyone has anything to say that is negative about this doctor, ,..I would gladly take them on..cane and all! I firmly believe that if you treat someone with care, you will receive back what you gave, ten fold. When you’re about to see Dr. Raman for the first time, just know that you’re going to receive a gift..a gift of education, of time, of years of experience, of dedication, and of caring. You will not be disappointed. I’ll sign this, “a very satisfied and fortunate patient.”

I had a colonoscopy with Dr. Raman. He did conscious sedation. He is a kind, gentle, caring man. He explained his findings and gave me dietary advice and added medications. I am going for regular follow ups. Thanks to him, I did not have to go for surgery and am now in remission with my Crohn's. I hope he stays in practice for a long time, because I don't want to change doctors.
