He has been my gastroenterologist for 4 years he is straight forward you might no always like what he says but he been right with me. Has fit me in for emergency scope to help get my diagnosis. He always lets you have the last word never rushed so I don’t mind waiting it means he is caring for another patient. He is very detailed in his instructions of treatment and thinks outside the box. I will be sad when he retires he’s a great dr!

I have only ever had positive experiences with Dr. Raman. He takes the time to explain everything in detail and really cares about his patients. He is the only doctor that comes and visits you after your procedure (the nurse told me this) to explain what he saw and what he did and is soft spoken and respectful. He does think that nutrition and lifestyle play a major role in the state of one’s health and I completely agree with his views. People on this forum who are rating him low want a magic pill to solve all of their health problems and don’t want to make changes to diet and lifestyle because it’s difficult, but it does help. I have made significant improvements by following what he has suggested for me. He is by no means chauvinistic in any way. He will tell you directly what you need to do and what you are doing wrong and I admire his no nonsense approach. If there is a family member with you, he will explain to them what he saw and changes that need to be made to diet and lifestyle because the sedative one receives makes it difficult to retain all of what he has to say so he’s not doing it to be rude. It really doesn’t surprise me that people who want to continue with their unhealthy eating and lifestyle habits don’t like him. He is truly one of a kind. We are living in a world where everyone wants an easy solution but that is in no way realistic. We need more doctors like Dr. Raman who use a more natural approach to healing.

The wait is usually long but it’s because he does not rush you. He thinks outside the box and is straight to the point. He listens to what you have to say and puts it all together and comes up with a plan. He appreciates that some healthy issues are more complex but doesn’t just dump you as it’s out of his expertise he still listens and tries to help. Will be a loss to our community when he retires

I have been a patient of this doctor since spring 2019 for issues regarding the pancreas. I knew his approach would lean towards holistic and that he would offer some unusual recommendations. I accept that mind/body are connected. You must pay attention and maybe take notes during consults. I really cannot say anything negative about him, maybe some of his opinions are unconventional and this might not appeal to everyone.

I think that Dr Raman's views are largely outdated. He has unrealistic views of how we should live our lives (today was told that others' with my disease, way worse than I have it, have stopped all meds simply by meditating and and helping in the community with no expectations of grandeur or monetary return etc and they are happier and healthier for it). He also told me that my disease would be better if I spent all my time in the shower each day signing at the top of my lungs. He can be unreasonable, chauvinistic and downright mean. I appreciate his straightforwardness, however, often will not listen to responses. He scolds a lot with unreasonable issues. If I could see someone else, I would. He is the only GI I've had that has no bedside manor. Oh, and he often gets upset when my husband doesn't come to my appointments with me (simply not possible for the most part). So. Very. Chauvinistic. (On the one occasion when my husband could come with me, he spend the appointment talking to him as though I wasn't in the room.)

Really needs a new receptionist or the old one back. The new one NEVER answers the phone, always has the answering machine on. I leave messages never get a response. At least call back.

Excellent doctor. Clear and to the point. Has an interest in lifestyle as a part of good health, but is very knowledgeable about his information. Very comfortable going to him. He is often late, he knows this, but he takes the time it needs to help you. If that is why he is late, then I can wait.

Dr Raman is very nice, he is also very strait forward and blunt on his views which I appreciate. He doesn't tip toe around touchy subjects and everything he told me to modify in my diet and lifestyle (even though at the time was hard to hear, like keeping proper sleeping hours, losing weight, stop smoking and drinking coffee and stop eating red meat and raw vegetables while adding yogurt and vitamin D amongst other things) has helped me to feel much better, I now have hope for living my life again. From other people's comments I see people don't appreciate hearing the truth about living a healthier lifestyle. It may be hard, but it is worth it.

I have had run ins with this doctor many times due to illness. Each time I see him he immediately feels the need to tell me how fat I am. Tells me I need to get off of the medication I've been on for ten years now that I will be on the rest of my life and then became upset when he made me cry. I am overweight but not excessively and my other physicians have not been concerned about my weight.when I had a scope done by him he was telling everyone I was in liver failure. He does all of this without checking with my other doctors and tried to change my medication. Tells me he has discussed it with them. Call them only to find out that they were trying to call him back and touch base and advise him against changing any of my medications. Absolutely avoid. He's not only rude to his patients but their families.
