Takes his time to explain your illness very personal if you not taking care of yourself he will tell you how it is I eat healthier than my last 40 years the only doctor that’s ever called me up on a Sunday afternoon to ask me how iam doing

I found him to be very knowledgable and while somewhat direct, it was information I needed to hear. I went in for a scope and while I was there he addressed my chronic migraines that I had written in my intake form. Not one Doctor in 20 years looked at my birth control pill as a cause. He told me to stop them immediately. While I was hesitant, I decided to give his theory a try as literally nothing else had worked. He was right. Ive not had a migraine since. That was a year ago. So I commend him for his knowledge and giving me back my quality of life. He did not have to take the time to speak to me about matters not relevant to my GI system. He was thorough and extremely helpful! His staff was also very welcoming and knowledgable.

I see a lot of negative comments, but my experience with him was really good, not rude nor nasty to patients. Sure some there are some recommendations that he makes are a little bit out there, but overall he is a very good doctor who genuinely cares. I would recommend him, and I have been scoped twice by him

I’ve been to Dr Raman twice for colonoscopy for widening schatzki ring in the esophagus. Explains what he is going to do before procedure, talks to you after procedure and follow up 6 weeks later. Is sometimes difficult to understand due to accent & talking fast but will repeat if you tell him you didn’t understand. As we believe in natural products over medication where possible, so appreciate his info re natural products, but I’m not sure he listens or reads chart, as he does seem to rhyme off the same info to almost everyone. During teleconference, he does say to call him if you have any questions or concerns.

I’m still confused to what my treatment is suppose to be. He shamed me in front of his Medical Student like I’m some sort of child and that western culture is to blame for my issues. I took my father along even though I was an adult for support and he ignored 99% of what I said and gave all the instructions to my father like I’m some sort of idiot.

After that he recommended Homeopathy stuff.

Either way I felt violated from this experience.

I met Dr. Raman April 19 (yesterday) for a colonoscopy which I was unsure of but he came and talked with me before and after the procedure which put me at ease and as to some of the comments on here I do understand why he would tend to speak with the other person as you would still be a little groggy waking up from being put to sleep . I thought he was a nice man, seemed to care. as for his secretary I had to miss an appointment and she was able to fit me in 4 days later which I'm greatful for.

He was so gentle and careful during the procedure. He put me at ease, spent plenty of time explainining everything, stressed dietary changes in great detail at my followup appointment. I am much healthier due to his advice.

I was nervous to see this doctor because of some reviews I’ve read but I have absolutely no complaints! He answered all of my questions with great detail and was very knowledgeable. Very polite and friendly. I feel very comfortable and confident being his patient.

I just had to comment on my experience with Dr. Raman. I was so afraid to see him after reading the comments on here. My experience was no where near what others have said. Dr. Raman greeted me with a big smile and shook my hand. He is super gentle and explains everything in detail. I had a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. I was so worried I would be to alert as I have a fear about gagging because my gag reflex is so sensitive. All I remember is taking a deep breath and then I woke up and he was doing the colonoscopy/ It was a little painful but not anything that I couldn't withstand. He had told me it would be because of scar tissue from my hysterectomy. Dr. Raman also came back to my bedside once I was fully alert and explained his findings and I know people have said they don't like that he wants a family member present, personally I agree with him because you are not 100% and two sets of ears listening is a great idea! This was a walk in the park that I would go through having Dr. Raman do anytime! The only negative in the whole experience is the prep to clean the bowels lol

Had a terrible experience with dr. ramen in the hospital . I go for a colonoscopy every two years ordered as per my doctor. I usually go with Dr. Ohara . In the consultation of what little he did explain he was looking and speaking to my husband the whole time. He told me( didn't ask if i did ) Not to chew gum, Eat red meat, Drink alcohol or pop and to walk more Odd.. because i eat a gluten free healthy diet im 130 pounds i don't drink ,chew gum , no sweets or pop and i walk for my job 9 hours a day i'm constantly running around a huge store. He told me i was on the verge of IBS and assumed i had problems going to the washroom. But last few colonoscopy's with the other doctor went great The doctor said it was the best hes seen. Dr Ramens bedside manners were awful I wolk up during the procedure and was in severe pain he told me i was moving too much and to stay still while he finished . It was odd because when i wolk up he was in front of me and there was a nurse behind me . HE FAILED TO INFORM ME HE REFUSED TO PUT ME OUT ! there was no anesthesiologist because he quote " doesn't work like that" and " doesn't do it that way" . I ended up in tears afterwards my husband was shocked, thank goodness for the nurse at the hospital helping me. So if you do go with him make sure you ask if your going to be put out because he will not inform you . Dr Ramen's own personal views will often trump your health and safety. I do not believe he checks your chart or past medical history based on the statement's he was making to me. please be carefull when choosing this doctor.
