He was very rude, refused to answer any questions I had , and told me to go home and only call him if I had a stroke. No compassion. No bedside manner. No interest in me or my case. By far the worst experience I’ve had with a doctor ever.

Dr. Chow saved my life in 2019. He is the best brain surgeon we have in Alberta. He is very compassionate and to the point. He takes time to explain the procedure and the outcomes. I feel safe and secure with him and his staff. Dr. Chow and his staff are very professional and kind. They assured me that everything will be ok. Right after my surgery and when I was in recovery, Dr. Chow was already there beside me making sure that I was taken cared of and he explained the outcome of the surgery. Dr. Chow has a big heart, from my experience he takes care of his patients to the best of his ability. Looking forward to my next appointment.

I have a rare neurological disease. I was pressured I to being a guinea pig and being the 3rd person in Alberta to have him perform thus surgery on. I felt great for about 2 months and then it started to go the other way. I've been feeling horrible for over a month, called and left his useless receptionist Gerri a voice mail explaining how poor I've been feeling and that I desperately needed to hear back from the surgeon and never heard a peep. I ended up in emerge Dec 9 and sent by ambulance from my town 2.5 hrs east to edmonton because my pain and discomfort had become so severe. When I called his office from the u of a emerge room and expressed how upset I was to the receptionist she claimed to have no record of me calling and that I "alleged" to have called and not gotten a call back. I have phone record proof. Then she was suppose to have called me and cancel my appointment for scan the following Friday and she failed to do so resulting in me driving 2.5 hrs to edmonton, missing a day of work, all because she failed to do her job. I regret EVER caving in and agreeing to this surgery. Now I'm left suffere8ng daily with less then minimal contact or advice for possible relief

I have been with Dr. Chow’s table twice for my surgery. He is nicest and kindest Doctor in town. His assistant Kirsten is very nice as well. Right now I am just waiting for a call from them for my schedule with my third surgery for my acrylic flap. I called for follow up since I was told that it will take 2 to 6 months after my second surgery. I don’t have any clarity because every time I would call his office his new assistant Jeri Correia is not accommodating and if you call she will make you feel you are bothering her by your questions. I am not comfortable now to call his office because I feel not welcome by her new assistant. Clinics should be more accommodating and nice to their patients.

Dr. Chow and his team successfully removed an aneurism from my Mother’s brain today. Great thanks to the Doctor, his staff and the UofA hospital.

I was diagnosed with a spinal tumor after I suddenly had difficulty walking. I’m only 42 years old. I am told that only 1 in a million people will ever develop one of these. Dr. Chow was caring, informative and very knowledgable. It was his first spinal tumor and was very specific with all the risks that surgery entailed. He did a fabulous job I still have some generalized weakness on my left side but that was suspected. He was great and I thank my lucky stars that I had him as my doctor or I might have ended up in a wheelchair.

Dr. Chow was amazing. I was rushed in with a ruptured aneurism. Thanks to him and the caring staff at the U of A HOSPITAL, I was out of the hospital in 3.5 weeks with NO lasting effects. In the follow up, he sat and explained what happened, how it was repaired and compared it to the CT scan yesterday. He really set my mind at ease and would strongly recommend him.

Dr.chow could not make a diagnosis for me and would not refer me to someone in the USA who could. He offered no treatment options even though others do this surgery else where. I’m getting sicker every day and he refused to help me. You would think that if he couldn’t fix me that he would give me options after all it is my head. I told him I’d rather die on the operating table than continue life like I have been rotting away everyday with something in my brain that shouldn’t be there. Doctors are supposed to help you and give you options not tell you he can’t help

I cannot thank Dr.Chow enough for his help. I have been battling a herniated disc in my back for 7 years. I have seen many specialists, therapists, & other doctors with no or very limited success. After spending 2 months on bed rest I met Dr.Chow. He was very patient & kind. He answered all the questions my mother & myself had. He really listened to me about what had been going on with my back. When the surgery date came it was the same patients & kindness I had seen before. When I woke up after surgery I only had minor surgical pain. No pain in my leg, hip or lower back. I cannot express the relief I felt. Dr. Chow has given me my mobility back and that is something that I will always be thankful for. I am forever thankful to him & his staff.
