It starts when I had to go to the ER because my IUD went missing and I had swelling and pain in my abdominal area. Turns out my IUD expelled from the cervix and now as in my abdomen. When I first met Dr. Azer the first question he asked me, "is this your first pregnancy?". I quickly corrected him and let him know that I was here to have my IUD surgically removed. My mom, who is a nurse, warned me about him, but at the time my husband and I felt we were out of options. As I was recovering from anesthesia Dr Azer came to talk to me. I hardly remember what he said to me and there was no nurse or family member with me to confirm what he had said. During the discharge he said that I could return to work the next day! Luckily my mother-in-law got me a sick note to have a week of minimally. Two weeks goes by and I have a follow up with my GP and she was shocked to hear that he never told me when to get the stiches taken out. One of the incisions was infected and I was required to go back to him for an update. The incision was red, swollen, with white discharge. He said it did not look infected! Later than night I got IV antibiotics at the ER. It's been 8 months now and I still have pain. Moderate to severe with dizziness and poor sleeping. All results are coming back as normal. Whatever he did during surgery has messed me up so much that I'm on modified duties in every area of my life. I have been exhausting all options to get better and am praying that this won't impact my ability to have children. If you ever get the change, ask for a different doctor so you don't have to go through what I am going through.

He was entirely unhelpful and condescending. Didn’t answer any questions with any detail and spoke to me like I was stupid. He straight up refused to address my concerns, deferring to my GP.. when he is the “specialist” I was referred to. He didn’t ask ANY follow up questions regarding my concerns he clearly just didn’t want to deal with me. Used very condescending analogies for my health concerns and I left with less knowledge than I had coming into the appointment. I left crying.

Do not go to Dr Azer!!! Horrendous experience.
He was unnecessarily rough, causing severe pain. I have had biopsies in the past, but never experienced anything like this.
First the speculum was inserted very fast and roughly. He then proceeded to very aggressively thrust the tissue removal instrument (numerous times). He was so rough that I had to firmly hold onto the examination table or I may have fallen off.
This was so painful I was in tears.
I left his office feeling extremely VIOLATED. .
Please do not see him or even worse take your daughters to him.

Do not ever go to this “doctor”!! More importantly do not ever let your daughters go to him. He uneccesserally hurt me and he did not even know what I was there for in follow up, TERRIBLE bedside manner and likes to bring you in extra so he can charge AB hlth. He shoved the speculum in me so hard I started immediately cramping. He also did not use any numbing, I’d had this cervical biopsy procedure at the Cross before and they froze my cervix for the procedure. He did not! He didn’t prepare me for what he was going to do, he just got in there and I then cried silently in major unexpected pain, squeezing the nurse’s hand like I was giving birth. I actually felt violated after I left! Seriously!! It was a horrible feeling. I have never in my life felt that. My GP of 20 years was a man, and did all my paps every year with care, concern and explanatiins, so it’s not a gender issue. Then upon results follow up, Dr Azer made me come back to the office, nurse wouldn’t say anything on the phone to me, said he told her not to (they always tell on the phone at my GPs office when it’s negative, that’s the office he was using) only to tell me it was negative afyer worrying all weekend!! Then he was explaining how he didn’t know what we were ging to do next, here were my options for the heavy bleeding and it was up to me what I wanted to do. Um what the h*ll are you talking about, I had an abnormal pap?? You did a biopsy for cancer, it’s neg, end of story!! So he didn’t even know what I was there for. Plus he made me come in 3 times, so he could charge AB Health for each appointment. Two of those appts were unneccessary. This man should NOT be practising!

These negative ratings are so confusing. I have seen him twice and will have a Laparoscopic procedure completed soon.
He came out to the waiting room, the first time I visited him, called me by name, was interested in who I am. Spoke professionally and respectful, I actually came home and said to my husband, he seems like a great Dr.
The second visit was to review the blood test results and discuss the procedure . Both appointments were respectful and on time.
