Wish I would of went to Lutheran instead, like my first birth. I came in to deliver my son, and the nurses’ bedside manner were less than average. Acted as if they couldn’t wait to get off work. I would ask for things, and they either ran out or acted as if I was asking for a bulk supply of such item. They made my newborn infant sleep in a swaddle that was clearly too small for him because they couldn’t find his correct size. Then afterwards, a lady came to take my blood draw at 5:30 in the morning. Waking me and the baby up. She was extremely rude and rushed me to wake up out of sleep, grabbing my arm and saying “I need to hurry up and do this before the doctor makes his rounds.” In which she then grabbed my arm aggressively. The only department I could say had excellent service was housekeeping and food services.

I know that I was well taken care of, however, nursing staff should read charts before discharging patients from outpatient procedures. My procedure did not require general anesthesia, so I was able to go home much more quickly than others. My post op nurse was completely deadpan, with a flat affect. Proceeded to tell me that I had general anesthesia, when I hadn't. Advised me to not have solid food the first day (completely unnecessary-this was my third colonoscopy in 10 years, so I'm well versed in post op care)-and I believe this absolutely stemmed from the fact that I am overweight which automatically makes me uneducated and ignorant.
