I have crohn's disease and was referred to Dr. Russell from my GI doctor. I got an appointment within 2 weeks which I thought was great. When I saw Dr. Russell I was told that I probably have fibromyalgia and that I needed to try meditating and trying self hypnosis. He ordered no tests or felt the need to look into why my hands have swollen 2 ring sizes. I left feeling that I had wasted time. I then got a call for a follow up less then 3 months later......Not sure why I would need to come back for a follow up that soon when I was basically told nothing was wrong and to meditate on it....Seems like someone is hungry for money, needless to say I will not be returning

I was told that I have a sleep disorder and perhaps mild fibromyalgia after meeting with this doctor. No follow up or further blood tests were ordered. He prescribed orthotics (after asking if I had fancy insurance) and muscle relaxants to help me sleep more and better. I’ve seen another rheumatologist since due to persistent joint pain and am now diagnosed with early stages of lupus.

I had a really disappointing visit that left me in tears. I usually connect well with traditional Drs but it was obvious he already had a diagnosis in mind and asked guiding questions to the diagnosis. I repeatedly listed my symptoms and was ignored, only the ones that related to his idea were taken on board.

I am a young person with lifelong debilitating pain and he basically told me I need to sleep better. That is not relevant and so reductive. Tanked my chances at income suppor.

After reading such negative reviews we were really concerned about my mom’s appointment with Dr. Russell. However we found him to be extremely kind and helpful. The clinic staff was also really good. I suppose it’s a matter of who you click with. I would have no issue recommending him.
