INJURED BABY -- Had a "birthing emergency" during childbirth and almost lost my baby. He was delivery doctor. Shoulders got stuck behind the pelvis during delivery. (shoulder dystocia) After a very painful and stressful experience, he told me that baby's clavicle bone had been broken. After being sent to another hospital and baby examined, turns out it was much worse. My baby had a brachail plexus injury (Erb's Palsy) which means his right arm was paralyzed from the stetching and tearing of the nerves. (as well as ripped completely from the spinal cord) My baby has since had nerve graft surgery to try and repair the damage, although not much has improved. My baby is left with a PERMANENT DISABILITY. I have since done a lot of research on this injury and have discovered that almost ALL cases of this situation CAN be prevented. I don't feel he had the knowlege to handle this situation properly. Hope others find this helpful in deciding his care.

Should not be allowed to practice. Pill pusher who just can’t wait to get the next patient in the queue. What a total loser.

I’ve heard a good doc treats patients from their head, a great one from the heart; Dr. Birkhill is neither. He is never wrong, no other health care professional is ever right, he is arrogant, and pushes pills without checking patients history or current medication. In my history with him I’ve found he has a tendency to misdiagnose. He isn’t interested in helping the person get better or get answers, money is his bottom line. My hubby wouldn’t let this man work on his truck. Spare yourself the time and find another doctor! This one is as useful as a back pocket on a t-shirt, unless your just looking for drugs.

This Doc is well arrogant & not professional at all. He has tenor here so apparently he’s smart & great. He’s a land developer, that’s what he’s known for around here. He doesn’t help a patient, hence I broke my foot, I don’t think he cared, I was bothering him. He had me see another doctor following day. My wife had a cist & pretty much told her it was cancer. To set up a specialist, that took 2 days before I almost took her to UofA. He has a story, he knows some people but he’s the last resort for a doctor for around here

After a terrible appointment with Dr. Coetzee, who told me that abortion is murder and tried to convince me to opt for adoption instead, I made an appointment with Dr. Birkill. When I told Dr. Birkill about my experience he laughed. He told me there was no such thing as the abortion pill. When I challenged him, he said there might be, but that he wouldn’t feel comfortable prescribing it to me. He sent me for an ultrasound anyway, which I went for, and he never followed up. Rude, unprofessional, and dangerous. I am an adult, educated professional — I knew what he was saying was not true, but I can’t imagine sitting there as a young, scared woman who has absolutely no information.
