Dr Tim Small's upbeat, personable and friendly manner belies his deft handiwork. I am elated by the results of my full hip replacement performed by Dr Small in September. His team are equally enthused, professional and available for questions. All followup medical personnel I have since seen have remarked on the 'beautiful neat scar'. Thank you so much, Dr Tim Small, from a public patient of St Vincent's Hospital.

Dr Small is an absolutely fantastic doctor who impressed me with his thoroughness and attention to detail. When the operation was done, I felt confident that I knew all the options that were available and that I was going with the best one and would be looked after. While an osteotomy can seem like a daunting operation to have, Dr Small and his team looked after me very well and the recovery process was very smooth and easy. Cynthia and Emma at the front desk are also very lovely to deal with as well, and are always very helpful.

My mother had a hip replacement last December (apologies Tim for the tardy review) after a long wait and essentially a collapsed hip at final stage. Post op she was pain free immediately, walking well and straight after completing physio diligently, and back to bowling within 3 months. Now nearly 85 years young she couldn’t be happier.
Tim did an amazing job and the whole experience from the first meet to the follow ups was easy and stress-free. Cynthia is lovely, always available and kept us well-informed on anything we needed to know.
Thank you team Small for your help and expertise in completing the op so successfully. It’s been a life changer for mum and the family.

I am72 and recently had a total hip replacement undertaken by Dr Tim Small. I have Ehlers Danlos hypermobility syndrome which makes such a procedure highly complex and places the new hip at higher risk of dislocation. I had sought out a surgeon who understood the challenges I would be facing. After considerable research, I saw Dr Small. He was the second surgeon I had seen, the other at another hospital who did not inspire great confidence in me. I had also had a knee arthroscopy several years ago. The surgery side effects left me severely incapacitated for a year to the point where I had to leave my job.
Dr Small was outstanding. He is highly skilled, knowledgeable, caring and very easy to discuss concerns with. Because of my previous surgery experience and my medical condition I had put off surgery for too long and had been hardly able to walk by the time I saw Dr Small. He also discovered I had considerable variation in leg length, another contributing factor to my hip problem.
Dr Small had me walking the day after surgery and I have hardly had any pain at all with my hip. I told him I wish I had met him years ago. I would have avoided considerable hip ( and knee) pain, reduced lifestyle and falls.
I cannot rate Dr Small highly enough and I will be forever grateful to him for his expertise and care. His staff are also wonderful, including Cynthia who manages the office and is a delight to deal with. If I’m brave enough to have a knee replacement, I wouldn’t go to anyone else.

I cannot recommend Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Tim Small highly enough.
Right from the initial consultation, Tim put me fully at ease regarding my Hip Replacement surgery, clearly explaining the procedure and my rehabilitation timeline.
The Surgery put paid to my Arthritic hip, I am pain free, and he even managed to correct my uneven leg length as a bonus.
Thanks Tim, you are a Legend!

I am 58Y and I have just had my left knee Surgery done by Dr. Tim Small to fix a Meniscus Tissue Tear.
From my very first appointment with Dr. Small he was so re-assuring and after reviewing my X-Ray and Scan reports, he explained to me what exactly that needs to be done and he said if I was ready, he immediately confirmed that he could fix it and very swiftly I was booked in for my Surgery at the St. Vincent Hospital, Sydney.
His secretary Ms. Cynthia was very helpful and was available to answer any questions and ensured all necessary hospital arrangements were promptly made.
Pre-surgery the team at the St. Vincent’s were equally helpful and caring and just before being wheeled into the Theatre Dr. Small came by to check on how I was and with a smile, he said I should be all OK.
It was a day Surgery and post- surgery I had no pain and before I was discharged Dr. Small came by to check on me just to ensure I was OK and he said, the Surgery was successful and I should not have much pain. To my delight I was able to walk to the Car without any assistance my recovery has been a smooth ride.
This was my very first Surgery in my life and my experience has been remarkable and completely changed my perception of how straight forward and pain free a Surgery can be with the right specialist as with Dr. Small. But then I realized that I was with on of the finest Orthopedic Surgeon’s in Australia and his knowledge, experience and professionalism was just best in class.
I will always recommend Dr Tim Small to anyone who needed treatment for any Orthopedic related issues and you can be assured of a speedy, pain free recovery to normal day to day activities.
I take this opportunity to wish Dr. Tim Small good health continued success in his profession!
