Firstly to Tim, I cannot thankyou enough for giving me back my mobility and quality of life. At age 45 I was diagnosed with servere osteoarthritis in my right hip. I was suffering constant pain, inflammation, walked with a limp due to 13MM leg length difference. I lost trust in my body, was unable to lead the active pre-osteoarthritis life I lived of tennis, hiking and circling. 7 weeks post surgery I feel like me again, I walk limp free as Tim balanced out my leg length to be equal. I feel structurally strong in my right hip, trust it and my body is back in alignment. The precision of my prosthetic is evident when I view my x-rays. From the first encounter with Tim you know your in the good hands with very experienced surgeon. He makes you feel reassured, provides quality care and is motivated to get you back to achieving your lifestyle. Big thanks to Tims team, St Vincents nurses and physio's who support you in your recovery, they are world class.

I simply cannot say anything other than AMAZING things about Tim. He has been my angel who has saved my hip and my life. As a fit, active and healthy young lady of only 23 years old I had the misfortune of fracturing both of my hips whilst living in the UK. My diagnosis was negligently missed for a whole year after I presented to the Emergency room with the injuries. Then when I finally underwent surgery in the UK the standard of care was so poor and I was abandoned by the NHS. My followe up appointments (most of which were cancelled last minute by the department) consisted of endless lies, lack of information and a no care attitude.
I moved to Australia whereby I sought advice from Tim through his amazing and lovely secretary Cynthia. From day one he has been beyond amazing. My care felt so personal and he made me feel more than just a number (completely opposite to the UK). From start to finish everything has progressed in such a quick and efficient manner. After only one appointment I felt like I was finally getting closer to answers and clarity. I finally underwent surgery with him on the 23rd June. Writing this only three and half weeks post surgery I can honestly say I don’t think I could ever trust anyone other than Tim to operate on me. He has just been the best. He checked in on me every single day I was in the hospital post op (EVEN on the weekend and after full days of surgery!). We are still waiting to see if my bone which has refused to heal up to now will heal. But if it doesn’t I know Tim will consult with me and make the best plan, not one which is beneficial to him but one that is beneficial to me and the many years of life I have left. I will forever be indebted to him and what he has done for me. I admire him truly for his expertise, his care for his patients and for how he has already changed my life and my hope. Something I had lost for a very long time. After many years of despair he has helped me like I never thought somebody could. Cynthia and Tim thank you for everything. If you are considering a consult with Tim just know you are in the very best possible hands!

Outstanding. I had an ACL recon under Dr Small. He uses a new technique keeping the old ACL and using the graft as a scaffold keeping the nerve and blood supply. I am now back to playing netball and have essentially forgotten about my knee. Thank you Dr Small… Emma

I met Tim by chance in ED at St Vincent’s after presenting with stage 4 terminal metastatic cancer and spinal complications. My prognosis was 12 weeks !! Tim has now operated and cared for me on 3 occasions and 2 years on, I’m still alive ! Tim has worked closely with my oncologists and replaced my left knee twice, firstly after a very complicated lymphatic infection and more recently after a fall in Queensland, destroying my prosthetic knee, tearing all the ligaments and major damage to my popleteal artery. Tim has been amazing, showing patience, caring professionalism. I insisted on being flown to Sydney and to Tim as doctor’s in the North wanted to amputate my leg. Not Tim….he accepted me (again) and rose to the challenge. After 10 weeks in 4 hospitals, I am finally home and mobile. Tim is brilliant and I thank him for my life. If anyone wishes to PM me in respect to Tim, I would be more than happy to share my incredible experiences with him and his amazing team. Thank you Dr Small for all you have done for me.
