I had a hip replacement in October 21, 2020. Before I was suffering with pain for a year, I couldn’t walk and do my everyday routine, I even couldn’t sleep because of pain. I was so lucky to have Dr Tim Small as my surgeon. The operation was successful, I felt the difference of life quality straight away after it. In a few days I was full of life and in a few weeks I felt so strong and energized that I haven’t felt for ages.
I can’t express how much I grateful to Dr Small and his team. And special thanks to the anesthetist, who was extremely professional.
I have some experience because this is my third joint replacement. And I would say the best one. I was really impressed by Dr Small’s attitude; he is so friendly and supportive.

Dr Tim Small and his Team have performed wonders with my fractured elbow, ulna and radius after an accident in Feb 2020. Dr Small’s positive demeanour, attitude and enthusiasm reassured me immensely initially as I thought I would never regain strength and flexibility. Within 6 months my elbow and arm were working again! Tim has a great manner and gives you, the patient the confidence to push yourself towards recovery. I would recommend Dr Small’s expertise to ensure the best possible recovery. Thanks again Tim.

I met Tim on July 15 this year. I have had breast cancer with bone metastasis for nine years.
I began experiencing groin pain and had difficulty weight bearing. I had spent an entire day in emergency in a NSW regional hospital. The registrars proposed urgent surgery without informing my husband and I as to the details and how it was related to my symptoms.
After that traumatic day, my oncologist referred us to Dr Tim Small. What a contrast! Tim walked us through all of my scans and showed us a fracture in my femur was imminent. He carefully explained the proceedure of a femeral rod and nail, and showed recent xrays of one he had performed.
We requested bloodless surgery which posed no problem to Tim or his team. Surgery was scheduled for July 17.
What an amazing man! Reasuring, caring, very sympathic to cancer patients, and professional.
The surgery itself was as neat as a pin. Four very small cuts along my leg. Healed beautifully. Pain free within a couple of weeks.
In my opinion Tim is a master surgeon.

Dr Tim Small’s upbeat, personable and friendly manner belies his deft handiwork. I am elated by the results of my full hip replacement performed by Dr Small in September. His team are equally enthused, professional and available for questions. All followup medical personnel I have since seen have remarked on the ‘beautiful neat scar’. Thank you so much, Dr Tim Small, from a public patient of St Vincent’s Hospital.

Better late than never. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with Dr Tim Small I cannot fault him as a person or surgeon. I was very lucky to get him after I had a car accident and woke up in St Vincent’s Hospital. He is somebody very special and Cynthia is very caring and helpful.
A very special thank you . I am dancing again

I cannot recommend Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Tim Small highly enough. Right from the initial consultation, Tim put me fully at ease regarding my Hip Replacement surgery, clearly explaining the procedure and my rehabilitation timeline. The Surgery put paid to my Arthritic hip, I am pain free, and he even managed to correct my uneven leg length as a bonus. Thanks Tim, you are a Legend!

I am 58Y and I have just had my left knee Surgery done by Dr. Tim Small to fix a Meniscus Tissue Tear. From my very first appointment with Dr. Small he was so re-assuring and after reviewing my X-Ray and Scan reports, he explained to me what exactly that needs to be done and he said if I was ready, he immediately confirmed that he could fix it and very swiftly I was booked in for my Surgery at the St. Vincent Hospital, Sydney. His secretary Ms. Cynthia was very helpful and was available to answer any questions and ensured all necessary hospital arrangements were promptly made. Pre-surgery the team at the St. Vincent’s were equally helpful and caring and just before being wheeled into the Theatre Dr. Small came by to check on how I was and with a smile, he said I should be all OK. It was a day Surgery and post- surgery I had no pain and before I was discharged Dr. Small came by to check on me just to ensure I was OK and he said, the Surgery was successful and I should not have much pain. To my delight I was able to walk to the Car without any assistance my recovery has been a smooth ride. This was my very first Surgery in my life and my experience has been remarkable and completely changed my perception of how straight forward and pain free a Surgery can be with the right specialist as with Dr. Small. But then I realized that I was with on of the finest Orthopedic Surgeon’s in Australia and his knowledge, experience and professionalism was just best in class. I will always recommend Dr Tim Small to anyone who needed treatment for any Orthopedic related issues and you can be assured of a speedy, pain free recovery to normal day to day activities. I take this opportunity to wish Dr. Tim Small good health continued success in his profession!

Dr Small replaced my hip a year ago, and from the moment I came out of the anesthetic, I've had no pain at all. To my mind, it was a spectacularly successful procedure. He also adjusted the length of my legs, which were slightly different. I wish all my surgery worked out this well.

I’m a 52 yo male that had never been in hospital or had surgery! Around 6 weeks ago I had hip replacement surgery on my right hip. Tim was amazing, explained details for me to understand and in a way that was easy on my mind. The professionalism of this surgery starts at the front door with the office manager Cynthia who is always available for any concerns. Now 6 weeks later I’m about to have my second surgery (left hip) replaced by Tim and would recommend this surgeon to anyone for a completely stress free, open and shared experience!
