My dad has been seeing Dr. Russel for about two years for rheumatoid arthritis. This doctor kept writing him Perscriptions. Without even listening to him or having a conversation. He is a do what I tell you or don’t see me kinda doctor. He is so old and and makes me feel like he hates his job and people. My dad ended up in the ER few weeks ago because of the bad advice and medicine. My dads body actually stopped producing his own blood and needed multiple blood transfusions and assistance from actual medical professionals. When we contacted Dr. Russel he wasn’t even concerned what had happened. He comment was “what do you want from me, if the other doctors want to talk to me they can call”. He totally disregarded his role in the whole situation. It was discovered the medication that dad was prescribed was the reason for his failing health. This doctor didn’t even care to send him for a blood test to see how he was responding to the medication. Please nobody go to this guy at all. He probably is killing people and doesn’t even care because most of his patients are old anyway. Poor excuse of a doctor that shouldn’t be doctoring anymore. Retire immediately Mr. Russel!!!!!!!!

I seen this Dr 5 years ago. He basically told me my neck pain came from looking down all the time and that I didn’t have a autoimmune disease. I went to another rheumy and was XX with mixed connective tissue disease and hadhimotos! He was rude and so was his intern. I’m in healthcare and I’ve never seen such rudeness he should resign!

My husband has seen Dr. Russell for over 25 years and I can honestly say he has been a life saver. He listens to him, provides him with alternative options and has a heart of gold. Wish there were more like him!

I found he didn't explain anything to me except to tell me that I had Sjogren's. I had to ask the questions, and I really didn't know what questions to ask at the time, as I was unprepared to hear the results of the tests. When he prescribed the medication to me, he did tell me about the side effects. But that was about it. Told me to come back in a year and see him, unless something changed.

He diagnosed me before meeting with him and the initial meeting was > 5 minutes.I left baffled at the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia since I didn't feel anything was ruled out/investigated.Months went by and symptoms changed and things started to show in bloodwork. My Dr sent me back to see him and asked him specifically to look at two other separate disorders as Fibro didn't make sense. He scuffed at her letter. When I asked for more testing or info on the two disorders she asked him to check, he ignored me and kept saying he couldn't help me.The student Dr in the room tried to point out the flags in my bloodwork in which he quickly quieted him down. He did inform me that he misdiagnosed fibro in the first visit. I felt very saddened in which he responded I should see a Psychologist for helping to cope..All I wanted was a proper evaluation and treatment. With Fibro on your file many other rheumy's will not see you so it has been quite the struggle even though the diagnosis was retracted.

Dr. Russell was very off putting, rude and would not listen. I have been dealing with random attacks on my hands. I have seen several doctors, two agreeing I needed to see a rheumatologist. Right when I got in, he would not understand the severity, the length, or listen to any of the other symptoms I now experience. I was basically told to drive two hours and than he would look at it, when my hand starts up again. No offence but I will be finding a new rheumatologist who listens.
