“Diagnosed” me with fibromyalgia over the phone and refused to see me in person. He ignored my family history and other symptoms that don’t fit into a fibro diagnosis. He asked me leading questions about my sleep habits and basically forced me to say that I woke up feeling fatigued, even though I kept telling him that wasn’t the case. He recommended meditation and self hypnosis and got very agitated when I told him that I had already been in therapy for years for depression and anxiety and used to do yoga every day before my pain worsened. I get the feeling he does this song and dance with most of his patients. Easy $$$ to diagnose dozens of people a day with fibromyalgia and tell them to learn how to breathe better. If you get referred to this guy, don’t believe a word he says and ask your doctor to see someone else. I have to believe there is hope out there for my chronic pain but I know it’s not coming from this quack.

He was caring and very knowledgeable. I am fortunate to have such a good doctor . I don’t appreciate it when people take cheap shots at people in the medical profession, but don’t have the back bone to identify themselves .

This Dr has gone from a joke to an all out nightmare for anyone suffering from real illness or pain. He doesn’t talk to you, he talks at you. He can come across as caring or friendly but that’s only of you follow his appointment outline which is to sit down, get one and a half sentences out, be cut off and spoken over, handed a “questionnaire” that he goes over and then you are prodded and poked in all the classic fibromyalgia hot spots and then he makes this grand Announcement like he’s a genius and tells you that you have fibromyalgia and sleep deprivation.
To be fair, when he did this to me 2 years ago, I believed him and followed all his advice. This time however, his pulling a rabbit out of his hat so to speak was an appalling joke. I explained in few words (because that’s all you get before he interrupts and talks over you) that he gave me this exact appointment last time I saw him.
He then proceeded to tell me that all diagnosis that have been given to me are incorrect and that it’s all fibromyalgia and that I needed to stop using “medical talk” with him and talk just my symptoms which he didn’t listen to anyways. For example, after being diagnosed multiple times since the age of 16 by various medical Drs, a sports medicine surgeon and 2 heart surgeons that I have Reynaud’s, he told me that I don’t and that these Drs were completely incompetent. The man didn’t even look at my feet! So now he is writing to a new MD that I was just passed onto after my regular MD of over 15 years left the province to tell her that everything in my chart is wrong and has put all of the months in hospital, tests, specialists and agony (literally all the progress we have made in my medical issues) down to fibromyalgia and sleep disorder. He is a dangerous Doctor and his license should be pulled. The man is ancient and I feel he is going senile and has a God complex. The fact that he can rewrite 15 years of history in a 5 minute appointment without any tests is scary and disconcerting to say the least. He is not a surgeon. He does not run tests. Everything for him comes down to fibromyalgia and sleep.
Very very bad. If you are truly suffering, do not see this man. He is damaging all the work of competent drs, specialists and surgeons. Rewriting your medical history to suit his 1 personal opinion that he had no tests or actual time involved to back up.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Russell on the morning of February 23, 2021. He invited me into his office earlier than my schedule appointment time. He was kind, full of smiles (which was relaxing!), he reviewed and inquired about my medical history pertaining to this visit, reviewed with my husband and I recent test results, conducted a few tests of his own and explained in detail what I was facing. He even inquired about my offspring and mentioned the possibility this condition may be transmitted. From the first step into this clinic the staff treated us with respect and politeness all ending with the same compassion and pleasantness with Dr. Russell.
