I have just come back from Dr Sussmans office. Once you get over the dingy house you realize he is the only Dr you need to see for Allergies. Dr Sussman is a fantastic Allergist. I have Chronic Uticaria. I also arrived half hour late and was surpised I did not have to wait.

Dr. Sussman himself was professional and knowledgeable, however, his waiting room was downright scarey! It felt like we were back in the 1950's - everything seemed to be so old and dingy. Even the computer the receptionist was using looked like one of the originals. As a first time patient one quickly becomes apprehensive when looking around. As I waited for my daughter to come back out of the office after having allergy tests I found myself just wanting to get out of there as quickly as possible. It seems strange that a doctor who has a very good reputation would have such a strange waiting room!

I just started seeing Dr. Sussman for chronic hives (and am happy to read other comments of people being successfully treated for them). I went with absolutely no expectations, considering my GP is a complete waste of time. After various visits to my GP and responses such as, 'you'll get over it', and 'just deal with it', I had pretty much given up. I actually had to argue with him just to give me a referall to Dr. Sussman. I found Dr. Sussman to be very knowledgable and reassuring. I'm still in the process of being treated, but I'm finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. And yes, his office is a little dated, but I would take that any day over doctors that don't care or listen.

Dr. Sussman spent a lot of time taking personal calls in my presence. He seemed more interested, too, in solving the medical puzzle of my allergy history and some contradictory RAST and skin prick results - eventually telling me that I had oral allergy syndrome and not latex allergy as diagnosed by another doctor - than he did in explaining what it meant and how to deal with it. Once he had his "aha" moment, he handed me a useless sheet describing oral allergy syndrome and asked if he could save my blood for future research. He did not seem particularly empathetic or concerned about how this oral allergy syndrome was affecting my quality of life. He offered no reassurance. He also told me that Benadryl is "nothing more than a sedative" but did not offer a better suggestion. (Nor did he offer an explanation for why it had always been helpful to me over some 40 years of dealing with multiple allergies.) I don't doubt that he is knowledgeable, but I have no intention of returning to him.

I was suffering terribly and had seen multiple doctors in many specialties prior to arriving at Dr. Sussman. He and his student doctors performed a thorough history (and mine was long and complex) and within a half hour he communicated to me my diagnosis, explained what type of Doctor I needed, referred me to the best hospital clinic in the city for my needs and ONLY because of his absolute genius did I have a confirmed diagnosis and treatment plan within TWO months after many many months of going nowhere with other doctors. Truly amazing. I cannot thank him enough. I was a tricky case yet he immediately and accurately surmised what turned out to be the right diagnosis. This was 14 months ago. I am doing well. Dr. Sussman literally saved my life. Thank you Dr. Sussman.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gordon Sussman for years. I am always satisfied after a visit with him. Always through with everything I ask him. He is a brilliant doctor and would highly recommend him to all my friends and others. I just want to take the time to compliment the staff at the office. They are so very pleasant every time I walk into the office. I have just noticed this in the past couple of months. The receptionist always greets every patient with a smile and always asks how are you today. There are a lot of changes of people at the office, but the two ladies at the front are the most pleasant ladies I have ever meet. Keep up the great work Dr. Sussman and keep that staff you have now, they are a bundle of joy to be around and to talk to.

Dr Sussman is the most helpful physician I have seen ever. I have been going to him for a long time, and he has helped me overcome allergies, not just manage them. His office is often packed, so you will sometimes have to wait for an appointment but it is worth the wait. His is a brilliant doctor, and a kind man.

He is a genius. I have gone to so many allergists and no one could figure out what was wrong. Finally I got a referral to Dr. Sussman. Getting an appointment was tough, but it was worth the wait! I researched him before he went, and with all the research this doctor does, I had very high expectations. He not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. Thanks Dr. Sussman for figuring out what every other doctor could not.

I brought my infant daughter in to see drSussman after an anaphylactic reaction to food and he confirmed through skin test that she had multiple allergies. it has been over a year since then and we have done 2 blood tests and we still have no new information. The first requisition we got had another patients name and information on it!! When I called I was told to cross it out and write my daughters info!! Total breach of privacy! And only the first of many mistakes.
We waited 6 months for an appointment following the first test only to arrive and find out they didn’t have the results. I called 3 times to confirm that the results would be relevant and when I finally got through I was told it was no problem only to arrive, wait 45 mins (with a baby) and find out the results weren’t there. The receptionist, bless her heart, called the clinic and returned to the room saying they don’t have them yet I would have to wait longer. I had to ASK her to call back and find out why they weren’t in after 6 months only to discover they were never authorized and the tests were never run!! I was told if I took my daughter for another test I could receive the results over the phone seeing as I had waited so long and come in to wait around for nothing. I put my baby through the stress of another test which should have taken 3 days to process. I spent 3 weeks trying to get in touch with the doctor (the phone constantly rings through to voicemail) only to find out that they forgot to include her worst allergy on the test! And this was after more than 10 calls and being told several times that the doctor does not give results over the phone.
This doctor may be knowledgeable but I sadly didn’t get the chance to see this because of the utterly useless support staff at this clinic. The waiting room was always full. One visit there was even a walk in client that was taken while I sat and waited over 40 mins with my 1.5 year old! I will take my daughter to see a doctor who has time to be thorough and I can be confident will be giving us the best care.
