Waited over 6 months to see the doctor and was not impressed. I saw him for a few minutes. He referred me to hospital to get CT scans. I didn't hear back for 4 months. I tried calling but no one would pick up and could not leave MSG. Finally went to see him again. Waited another months. And finally got my results.

Testing area is row of rooms on both sides of a corridor, full of people getting tested. Like a conveyor belt or veal farm.Testing done by assistants who decide if results are strong enough to be considered big allergy/not. Results showed on me but woman who saw it said it's nothing compared to what she's seen before so no note of it. Analysis is DOCTOR'S job. He looked at assistants notes, and then I was gone. No note made on one referral that was going to be made (but wasn't). The referral that was made fell through, THAT office asked Dr. Sussman's office to tell me; they didn't. 9 MONTHS of emails & ph. msgs got me NO REPLY. Got someone today. Was told they got a letter from other Dr's office (9 months ago)to call them because of the problem. Since almost a year gone by with NO ACTION on Dr S's office, I'm told to call that office myself. NOT APPROPRIATE. Almost a year of inaction, NO HELP. What the hell's wrong with you, office? Useless. Year gone by so I'm on my own.

This guy is the prime example of why I can't stand going to doctors. The entire time that he met with me (5 minutes) he was showing off in front of the medical students that were in his office. First, he started asking me questions using doctor lingo and I had no idea what he was talking about. I told him my throat gets itchy from certain foods and then he got prescription happy and went to town on writing me prescriptions. When he wrote the prescription for some kind of immunization, he started bragging to the medical students about some treatment he created as though he was some revolutionary doctor that changed the world. Dr. Sussman, when I grow up I want to be just like you.

He is smart, however, I called his office 2 times to check if my medicine had arrived, and I spoke with a member of his staff, and I made sure that I was polite and respectful on the phone, but for some unknown reason, the staff person told Dr. Sussman I was harassing him, and next thing my phone rang and it was Dr. Sussman literally yelling at me telling me to stop harassing his office staff. I couldn't believe that a professional doctor and professional staff would be so unprofessional. A few weeks later my medicine did arrive at his office but then Dr. Sussman changed his mind and said he didn't want to treat me - meanwhile I was really sick and still had no treatment. I never went back to see him again and I went to another specialist.

We finally got into see Dr Sussman today, my son is almos 6 years old. We wanted to take part in the peanut patch clinical trial, unfortunately it's closed and are in the process of determining effectiveness. I am happy to wait and see true results. We also went to see if my son is still allergic to peanuts, tree nuts and shellfish. Peanuts are still there, and so is shrimp. Dr Sussman knows a lot of information and his requests for us to do some blood work with further his research and our knowledge. He is a very interesting man. He was not rude as others had said he was. He was personable and funny with my son. He's just very smart and also running a walk in clinic from his facility so it's very busy. The student was great, she's a fellow at Sick Kids hospital. All is all, I"m happy that we went to see him, we will do the blood work that he recommends and follow up with him. we are also on the clinical research list. I recommend him.

This is the smartest doctor I have seen. When you meet with him you can see he’s full of knowledge. I have been going from doctor to doctor for years, and no one knew how to support me. I went to him one time and my concerns were figured out

Words fail to describe the level of inefficiency and rudeness of front office staff. For my first appt, I called and left messages for approx a month. Once the phone was answered by a human who said she would call me back. She never did. Eventually, I personally went to the office to make an appointment. I can’t comprehend how others have rated the front office staff so well as I continue to have an impossible time to get a callback. Dr. Sussman seems to be well known in Toronto for having trained a lot of allergists, so he definitely has a lot of experience. My first visit, I found him rather brusque, not open to questions and quick to give only one solution. However, subsequent experiences with him showed he was more open to input and dialogue about my complex condition. The place is cramped, full of people, very hard to get a copy of your files, but a very helpful nurse located in the basement is wonderful. That being said, very unprofessional office staff make going to this doctor a dreadful experience.

First impression was scary. Building is old and outdated. But then I met him and he was phenomenal. He helped me with my hives and then even saw my nephew for his peanut allergy. His staff is great. Can’t say enough about Safi and Deena in research. I havent met a doctor like him. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Funny too. Highly recommend.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sussman’s since 2003. He is a pleasure to work with. I have never had to wait for my appointment time; he is polite, friendly and to the point. I wish all doctors were as patient, kind and understanding and clear about medical matters as Dr. Sussman
He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, a complete expert in his field and yet explains things clearly. He treats patients with respect and dignity, gives them a chance to ask questions and listens well.
His warm nature, sense of humour and charismatic smile truly helped to reassure me that I was in good hands. I was extremely pleased with his ability to help me feel relaxed and inform me of what I needed to know regarding my medical histology.
I was also very impressed by how well his work and the work of his staff were organized. His administration personnel and clinical assistants were so helpful and professional that I would like to make special mention of Deena Kobric, Clinical Research Coordinator, who navigated me through a complicated programme like a pro: She kept me constantly apprised, was responsive to my questions and very efficient.
I highly recommend Dr. Sussman to anyone seeking a best-in-class level of professional care, and especially for being a pioneer in establishing his independent clinic in internal medicine, allergy and immunology.

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Sussman. I had to contact his office prior to the appointment in order to make travel arrangements to and from Toronto. The staff was extremely helpful, returning my call and answering all my questions within a day. The appointment itself was punctual, and very thorough. He and his staff have a great wealth of knowledge and experience. Definitely one of the best experiences I have had with a clinic on my rare disease journey.
