The worst doctor I have seen in the world! She don’t know what she is doing never ever go there!

I was referred to Dr. Laval by my family physician and she has changed my life for the positive. She made a diagnosis upon a thorough examination, prescribed medication which she explained to me in detail and booked me for a follow up. I waited 15 minutes to see her for my follow up appointment which in my opinion is a very acceptable wait time. On my follow up she again explained everything to me and arranged to see me yearly. I also thoroughly enjoyed her sense of humour and found her very personable, especially during these trying pandemic times. I am so grateful to not only have been referred to her but to find out she will remain a part of my healthcare team on a yearly basis.

Dr. Laval does not care about her patients. She will remove you as a patient the moment you ask for “too much”. She removed me as a patient after I requested requistions for blood work. She does not respect your individual treatment plan and takes personal offense if you do not want to follow her instructions in terms of the medication to take. She only cares about money. I have heard her multiple tiems complaining to her staff “that shes not getting paid enough for this”. She really is not in this profession to help.

Dr. Laval was the only doctor out of many I’d visited who was able to diagnose my PCOS and got my periods back. It was like a miracle to me because my PCOS was quite severe since an early age. I am very grateful to her for that. She is the doctor I can trust.

Dr.Laval is very dismissive to your concerns. I had my IUD inserted with her. On my way home, after my appointment, I bled like crazy (so much that i felt dizzy) and had blood clots the size of goofballs that night and the morning after. When I mentioned this to her on the followup appointment online, she very casually said she hit a vein, so that is why there was so much bleeding. The process was also very painful, I don’t think she knows what she is doing. Please please see if you can get another gynecologist if possible.

Dr. Laval delivered my son and she is the reason he is here and healthy! She diagnosed me with pre-eclampsia and sent me to the hospital ASAP! Once there, she induced labor, was curteous and answered all my questions, and when the time came to make a decision for an emergency cesarian, she didn't hesitate because my son's life was in jeopardy. I have nothing negative to say about Sharon!

I've never written a review on here before but I had to after how disappointed my experience with Dr. Laval has been. My period became extremely erratic and my family doctor sent me for a couple ultrasounds which found some cysts on both ovaries. I was on the waitlist for an MRI and referred to Dr. Laval by my family doctor for specialized treatment. My first appointment with Dr. Laval was through virtual care (she showed up late), during which she told me not to bother going for an MRI because all women have cysts. She prescribed me oral birth control and the meeting was over in less than 10 minutes. I was left feeling unsettled as this is my first time having cysts or anything unusual with my period in 20+ years. After the first appointment, I checked reviews on here, and while I did find her to be brisk I didn't think my experience was as bad as some of the horror stories on here. I told my family doctor about the experience and she told me to get the MRI and she'd send Dr. Laval the results. MRI was a few weeks later. It went fine and my family doctor called me after she got the results. MRI found the cysts to be in line with endometriosis. Family doctor asked if Dr. Laval had phoned me to follow up yet and I said no. Family doctor confirmed she had a copy of the results and seemed baffled as to why a gynecologist wouldn't follow up with a patient about this. Time goes by and we hit my first scheduled check-in with Dr. Laval to see how the birth control is working. I was on a 90 day pack of Indayo, meaning I only had a period every 3 months. Everything with the period was normal at this point, but nowhere in the 7 minute appointment did she talk about the MRI results and a diagnosis of endometriosis. I stay on the pill for two, 90 day periods but find that towards the end of each pack I start getting breakthrough bleeding for days at a time in quantities more than just spotting. I tell this to Dr. Laval at the second scheduled check in, at which point she switches me without choice to Brevicon. The appointment lasted under 10 minutes again, with no chance for questions. I start on the Brevicon and immediately don't feel well. All oral birth control makes me somewhat nauseous, but Brevicon has been the worst by far. When I start a new pack, I feel nauseous all day and usually vomit in the morning. It mostly goes away during the first week, but when I get hungry the nausea comes back, meaning I have to eat right before bed or risk waking up in the night to vomit. I try calling Apple Tree Medical Center to schedule an appointment with her to discuss switching medication. After spending 10-15 minutes making multiple attempts to navigate their phone system, I'm told I can't contact Dr. Laval because I already have an appointment with her in a few months (to follow up with how I'm doing on Brevicon). It's at this point I ask my family doctor for a referral to a new gynecologist. Unfortunately, the wait time is long, but I continue to take the Brevicon and do my follow-up appointment with Dr. Laval. I'm notified by text that Dr. Laval currently has 3 appointments ahead of mine. It takes her 15 minutes to join the call (the math works out to her spending less than 5 minutes with each patient). I report feeling extremely nauseous on Brevicon. She tells me to take Gravel and stay on Brevicon. The call lasted approximately 3 minutes. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, but my experience joins the list of bad experiences. She was late to every call we had and rushed through them. Going through Apple Tree Medical Center is the only way to contact her and they are extremely difficult to deal with. Being forced on a birth control which makes me nauseous is impacting my day-to-day life and she has yet to acknowledge me having endometriosis more than a year after my MRI.

An absolute disgrace to the medical community! She is RUDE, DISMISSIVE, ARROGANT, MANIPULATIVE and .. more! I had to be examined for an abnormal Pap test that my ex family doctor had neglected to follow up for year and a half! She rudely started to examine me and said I’m pouring vinegar inside. I was surprised and said: vinegar? Why? She angrily said; because I do!! And snapped at me! Then went on to insert the tools inside me with absolutely no care! SHE DOES NOT SEE WOMEN AS HUMANS AND WORTHY OF CONCERN! Why is she practicing My very first appointment was a video call! She was more than an hour late and when she connected as we started talking she kept looking at her phone and chew on what she was eating! Suddenly she got this smile on her face ( apparently a text) looked up and had the audacity to say to me; I just have something to do can I call you later? Like in an hour or hour and a half or something???? Are you Kidding me?? She is literally a BULLY and should be off practice before damaging more women, physically and emotionally !

She spoke very slowly to help me to understand since I told her that I do not speak English very well...
