Unfriendly and uncaring manner. May be highly knowledgeable, but it was difficult to tell because he was reluctant to give me any feedback on my condition. Got the impression I was irritating him just by being there. Very poor bed-side manner. VERY unsatisfied.

Very rude man (unless the student work experience ladies are present) . He does not answer questions, and bedside manner is dreadful. Provides minimal information on procedures, what to expect during or after surgery. Would strongly recommend you GET ANOTHER OPINION FROM A PROPER PROFESSIONAL!!!!! as if you proceed its likely you may end up worse than you were before the operation!

The staff were extremely rude over the phone, so I didnt even bother booking an appointment.

Rude, ignorant man. Absolutely no bedside manner. He makes you feel like an inconvenience. I won’t be going back. Three visits and he still doesn’t know why I am in excrutiating pain.

Dr Narula’s attitude really depends on the day, he can be quite nice. then another time treat you like an inconvenience. In 2015 I had quite serious spinal surgery, he told me nothing about what to expect after the surgery, so i found it quite distressing that iwasn’t allowed to move for nearly a week and could not even feed myself. Felt absolutely at the mercy of nursing staff who were nice enough but extremely busy. Have on-going problems which he says is nothing to do with his surgery, mri shows scar tissue which he insists is not causing any problems. The latest is that he told me he wouldn’t do any more surgery as my spine was not in good shape and to ‘not overdo things’ and come back in 10 years! Not very useful! Have now been referred to a pain specialist and neurosurgeon and the understanding and friendliness is so refreshing I almost cried at my first appointment. Receptionist is very abrupt and can be quite rude. I feel that Mr N is most happy when his patients are unconscious and he is slicing them up!

I am so grateful to have Dr Narula treat me. A very capable surgeon who was reassuring, spinal surgery can be scary, he kept me informed and I felt I could trust him. The nurses at the hospital spoke very highly. I would let him treat me again. My surgery was successful.
