This man saved my eye by fixing a retinal detachment. I would highly recommend him.I have no experience with his staff. It is almost impossible for these Doctors to always be on time as sometimes they have emergencies. Your choice is to go to the usa. Please bring your gold card.

I have been seeing Dr. Anand for several years now. I have been an insulin dependent diabetic for 30 years & was referred to Dr. Anand when I developed retinal concerns. His treatment has been spot on & he is very attentive to my needs & concerns. His bed side manner is rough, but he is an extremely busy man & doesn’t always have time to chit chat about your kids or your garden.
I have had at least a dozen of the laser treatments to help with the blood vessels in my retina’s. About a year ago my right retina detached. Dr. Anand got me in for surgery within 10 days. The healing process has been long & frustrating, but finally I have a date for my second surgery & I can’t wait!! The surgery & his follow up have left me very impressed & I always felt like he was making the time for me.
He has been open & straight forward with me about everything right from the very start. I appreciate everything he has done for me.
For those who can’t appreciate the individuality & expertise Dr. Anand provides, go find another Ophthalmologist who will treat you with kisses & cuddles that you seem to need!

I can’t speak to his office at Sunridge; however I was recently referred to him by my optometrist as there were signs of leakage at the back of my eyes. I am an insulin dependent diabetic, have been for 25 years. I received a call immediately following my optometry appointment telling me I had to see Dr. Anad immediately. I went the following Tuesday to Rockyview General.
I had an angiogram performed to show any microscopic fissures as well. I was already nervous about the whole situation. My glucose levels are good and I have a 6.3 HgA1C.
While I agree that his bed side manner leaves something to be desired, it did sound like a very “end of my life as I know it conversation”. I was concerned that he was going to use the laser treatment to zap the leaks as well as new blood vessels in order to stop any further damage. That I understood. But his description of the treatment left me worried that it may be worse than the issues themselves. So I was rushed in for this treatment, without having much time to really think it through. He was very quick and not much time to collect my thoughts or blink between zaps, something I felt was a little dangerous especially when eyes seem to want to wander from time to time.
This was the first of many procedures. I do have concerns that maybe I don’t really need this treatment? He explained that the laser is destroying my retina. I have 20/20 corrected vision now, generally no issues with my eyesight, but he tells me that this treatment will degrade my peripheral and color vision over time. While most comments here talk about issues with getting in to see him, my concerns are really about his diagnosis and how much trust I should put in that? I hear that he’s one of the best known. I don’t care about his attitude or how his office staff treats anyone, I really want to make sure that 1) the procedures he does are really warranted and 2) there are no malpractice issues against him. the last thing I want is to go into see him one day, and leave without being able to “see” him the next. I’m already nervous enough about my eye sight.

Don’t waste your precious time and save yourself grief! I am sad that this doctor is still mistreating patients. People deserve better than this! After my last post about a year ago, and after a reminder call for an appointment with Dr. Anand, recently, I thought to check remarks from other patients to see if he has improved. Nope!
I had an unsightly cyst growing on my eyelid and I had ruptured it causing scabbing on top of the swollen cyst. In addition to being condescending and actually telling me, “I know a plastic surgeon who can make you beautiful again…” He dismissed questions I had and sent me away from the office without discussing the dangerous effects of the dilation drops they had put in my eyes. It was difficult and dangerous for me to drive with my heightened sensitivity to the sunlight. My eyes kept watering. I drove so slowly that a car hit me from behind even though my hazard lights were on. The damage was minimal but thank God I didn’t have my children with me strapped in the back seat! The receptionists are also abrupt and uncaring as they shifted the blame to the referring doctor and to me. Not a kind word for my ordeal.
My cyst went away but unfortunately not the memory of being disrespected, insulted and put in danger. If you have other options, I would recommending running far far away!!

Medically speaking, we have no complaints. Top shelf!
But a personal aside: maybe this man has too many patients or we had unreasonable expectations of more face time. We always felt rushed (processed) when with him one-on-one.
One time, we had six or seven unanswered (important to us) questions and as he was winding down the interview, we pointed to the questions. “I’ll give you two minutes,” he said, but he was up and moving to the office door within 40 seconds, before we had finished two questions. The problem with some professionals is that they handle the big stuff day in and day out, forgetting that a might-fail eye operation is a BIG DEAL for we peons.
