D. Anand is a doctor with good reputation, however I was referred to him by my optometrist 5 years ago. he is very pessimistic and gives you the bad news first and would make you wounder why the F are you going there, I will look for another doctor asap as he is very slow when it come to treatment. being a resident of Alberta I think I will be stuck with him foe a while.

I am surprised at the number of negative comments here but suppose that people who have had bad experiences are more likely to post feedback than those who have not.
I am of the latter sort. I was diagnosed with a bad retinal detachment in BC, was referred to Dr Anand at Rockyview, flew to Calgary the next day and was operated on the day after. He inserted a strong gas bubble which took 2 1/2 months to dissipate but now I see pretty well again out of that eye, so I am extremely grateful for the saving of sight in that eye. I think Dr Anand is an excellent surgeon and the hospital and its staff were first class. Dr Anand appears to be highly regarded in the profession and patients are referred to him from as far away as Grand Prairie, as well as BC.
His manner can quite brusque I suppose but I don’t see any reason for people to be offended by that.

Dr. Jag Anand is the worst Doctor out there, I went to his office waited beyond reasonable time after my appointment time, when he finally saw me he was using his cell phone listening to some religious mantars which I find highly unprofessional and on top of that he was using facebook and did not even tell me what is wrong with my left eye, just asked if anybody else in my family has ever had glaucoma, which makes me sort of think I have glaucoma, though the medication he prescribes has not helped but in fact has made my condition worst where as before the pain and vision problem would be once or twice a day for a few minutes only and now is constant. WORST DOCTOR EVER!

I’m actually surprised to read a lot of these reviews. I was sent in to see Dr. Anand in his Sunridge office when I had been diagnosed as a gestational diabetic. I was in to see him during my pregnancy, following my pregnancy, and now, a year later just as a follow up. His staff aren’t necessarily the friendliest, and there’s a bit of a wait past appointment time to see him, but I don’t find that any different than 80% of the specialists in Calgary. He has always been very kind and respectful to me, willing to answer all of my questions, and provide me with any information that I require. He’s also never left the impression with me that he is disrespectful because of gender. Lastly, he also took the time to ask me about my baby, and had a conversation with me afterwards about the baby. I feel like I’ve seen a very different doctor than the previous reviewers….
